UnReal 3.07

Projection

The show, Everlasting that is, takes center stage for what feels like the first time this season. Serena has to go on a hometown date with one of the guys. Rachel and Quinn want her to pick Owen. She's cool with that but Owen questions her sincerity. Serena takes a moment, thinks about what happened, and then asks Owen again. This time she is more open and honest about what they've been through up to this point. This time Owen says yes and takes her home to Colorado with him.

The rest of the guys are left behind in the mansion. August, Jasper, and Zach get into a whole digging contest. August inadvertently started the competition. Charlie and Madison catch the whole things on video including the mud fight afterward. August wins the competition but doesn't get anything for his efforts other than a few moments with Serena.

The hometown date starts to turn sour when Serena meets Riley, Owen's daughter. Serena freezes when Riley asks her if she is going to be her new mommy. Owen sees the interaction and is disappointed. Rachel senses that they made the wrong call in having Serena go home with Owen. Quinn disagrees and cooks up a scheme to make the date more exciting. Her scheme puts Riley's life in danger, makes Serena into a hero, and brings her and Owen closer together. Rachel is enraged and is clearly projecting her own situation with her father on to Owen's relationship with his daughter.

Chet needs Quinn's help to win back visitation rights with his son. She is hesitant to help out. He lays into her after he finds out about the stunt she pulled with Riley in Colorado. She uses his anger at her as an excuse to not help him in his custody fight with his ex-wife.

Charlie gets angry at Jeremy for leaving her behind while he went to Colorado with Rachel and the crew. She suspects that he and Rachel have rekindled their relationship, even though they haven't.

Jay continues to party with Alexi. He is falling in love but I seriously doubt that Alexi feels the same way about him. Everything seems great, to Jay, at the moment but I don't think that is going to last much longer.

Zach gets cut during the elimination ceremony which leaves Owen, Jasper, August, and Alexi as the last men standing. Jasper and Owen will probably be the last two after the dust clears but I'm not sure who will get eliminated next.

Rachel finds out from Dr. Simon at the end of the episode that her father has checked himself out of the rehab center and moved back in with his wife, Rachel's mother. Rachel is not a happy camper. She tries turning to Quinn for help but she is off to party with Fiona and doesn't feel like taking the time to help Rachel.

The relationships that have kept Quinn, Rachel, and Chet thick as thieves up to this point seem to be dissolving. Gary calls Chet after Quinn turns down his request for help. Gary wants help getting some dirt on Quinn. For the moment it looks like Chet is going to help Gary but I can't see Gary (or Chet for that matter) coming out on top at the end of the season.

Decent episode. It was nice to see the focus shift back to the happenings in front of the camera, at least for an episode.
