The Libertines
Ruth goes to Los Angeles for an audition for Justine's and Sam's movie. She thinks it goes well but then she realizes that they aren't just going to give her the part. She leaves after agreeing to meet with Sam in a couple hours. Sam, Justine, and the producer talk about Ruth but Sam is the only one who wants her to get the part.
Sam meets up with Ruth later. She tells him she loves him. They start making out. They are getting ready to go back to his place when he tells her that she isn't getting the part. She feels hurt and they go their separate ways.
Rhonda tries to spice up her marriage. She hires Melrose's boyfriend to stop by the hotel room and pretend to be there to fix the jacuzzi. Bash walks in and finds them drinking wine but he doesn't get jealous like Rhonda hoped he would. Bash encourages Pete to kiss and fondle Rhonda. He joins them and they start to have a three-way make-out session on the couch. They move it to the bed where not only do both men kiss and fondle Rhonda but they also do the same to one another.
Debbie helps Bobby organize his drag ball event. Sheila is supposed to do a scene with Ruth but Ruth doesn't show up. Sheila winds up doing a monologue that everyone loves. Yolanda and Artie's relationship is on the rocks. Tex shows up, uninvited. Debbie didn't tell him what she was doing for fear that he wouldn't approve. The ball is cut short when a fire breaks out. Everyone files out of the theater. They find hateful, anti-gay graffiti written all over the outside walls of the building.
Thoughts
This is a good episode but it didn't blow me away or rock my world. There were a number of moments that felt like they were supposed to be heavy or emotional but I didn't experience any intense emotions. If anything got to me it was the scenes with Sam and Ruth.
