Jackie tries to get Dr. Cooper to sign off an organ donation for patient who is probably brain dead. Coop is a little too busy having fun with Melissa Greenfield, who last met him when her mother was brought to the ER by her sister in the previous episode.
Jackie's nose starts bleeding, probably due to whatever it is that she's been snorting. Dr. O'Hara takes a look at it. She suspects that Jackie's been snorting something but Jackie denies it. She also gets snippy with Dr. O'Hara over a perceived breach of confidentiality.
Zoey catches Jackie in a lie. She wrote down what Jackie said a few weeks back. Jackie tells her she must have misheard what she said. She later finds Zoey's notebook on a desk, finds the page with the quote, and rips it out when no one is looking.
Gloria has to give up the baby that someone left in the ER. She's been taking care of him for the past two episodes. The parents return to claim him. It wasn't a mistake. They wanted to go to Atlantic City and didn't know what else to do. Gloria gives them a hard time before handing over the baby.
Jackie makes plans to spend some time with Grace, her eldest daughter.
Thoughts
The father of the baby is played by Raul Castillo who played Nick on Atypical. He has long hair in this episode. He looked familiar but I couldn't figure out where I knew him from until I saw a more recent picture of him with short hair.
This is a decent episode but it feels like there are lots of little plots strands. I expect that the season is going to end with some sort of a crisis for Jackie. Her drug habit or her affair or her falsifying records in the name of organ donations is going to blow up in her face.
