Farewell! Mayu
Captain Harlock notices that sun spot activity is increasing. He uses solar winds to speed the Arcadia back to Earth, ahead of the Mazone fleet. The Arcadia heads to Mayu's school. Harlock feels that she isn't safe there.
Commander Kiruta meets with Captain Harlock and suggests that he could take Mayu to his father in Egypt and hide her there. Captain Harlock agrees with the plan. Kiruta and Mayu head to Egypt while the Arcadia and its crew fight with the advanced portion of the Mazone fleet.
Commander Kiruta makes it to Egypt with Mayu. They were attacked along the way by the Mazone but the Arcadia showed up at the last minute and saved them. Kiruta is injured in the fight but Doctor Zero fixes him up. Captain Harlock shows Mayu the Arcadia's computer and explains that a piece of her father's memories is in the computer.
Mayu doesn't want to leave the Arcadia but Captain Harlock doesn't give her a choice. The crew of the Arcadia spend a few moments on Earth for what may be the last time before leaving to take on the Mazone fleet.
Thoughts
The end of this episode makes it look like the Arcadia is not going to survive the fight with the Mazone. Presumably they will defeat the Mazone but possibly won't survive.
This episode doesn't have quite the punch that the last one did. It is mostly setup for what comes next.
