Zuril comes up with a new plan to destroy the Space Science Center. He brings in four Vegans named Toko 1-4. Toko 4 impersonates Danbei, while the others three work with Zuril to infiltrate the Space Science Center.

Their first plan is to destroy it with a bomb. They sneak in and plant a bomb but a bomb detector gives the security system enough time to shield vital areas of the Space Science Center from the bomb.

Toko 4 takes out Danbei by knocking him into a gorge. It isn't until much later that Kouji and Maria find him. Toko 4 has infiltrated the Shirakaba ranch by then and fooled others, including Goro, his son. Once Danbei has returned to the ranch there is some confusion as to which is the real Danbei. 

Thoughts

There is of course a saucer beast in this episode. It disguises itself early on as a horse. Grendizer later fights the saucer beast and destroys it, of course.

I am puzzled by the use of the word Vegastos. I'm not sure what it means but it is used in the episode to describe the plan and the horse that is actually a saucer beast. Maybe it denotes Toko 1-4 in some way.

This episode ends fairly abruptly, as have many others. Toko 4 is killed by Zuril for failing to complete its mission. The fates of Toko 1-3 are not revealed.

This is not a key episode. It is not a terribly memorable episode. It is kind of weird in its own special way but not a way that makes me want to revisit it.
