Star Trek: Lower Decks 2.09

wej Duj

The crew of the Cerritos are given some time off while traveling through a quiet sector of space. Mariner, Rutherford, and Tendi spend time with members of the bridge crew. Boimler struggles to find someone from the bridge crew with whom to hang.

Lower decks crew members from a Klingon ship and a Vulcan ship get a moment in the spot light. All three ships come together before the end of the episode.

Thoughts

The title of this episode is Klingon for Three Ships.

This episode flew by. I'm sure that I missed all sort sorts of stuff. The Vulcans weren't hard for me to differentiate but I had a harder time keeping the different Klingon characters straight.

I could go into all sorts of detail describing this episode. There are central characters within the lower decks crew of the Klingon and Vulcan ships. Both come into conflict with the captains of their respective ships. There is also a Pakled ship that plays a role in this episode and the lower decks crew on that ship also get a moment in the spotlight. That's about as much detail as I feel like providing.

This is the first of 16 episodes in which T'Lyn, the spotlighted Vulcan lower decks officer, appeared. All but one of her 15 other appearances are in the fourth and fifth seasons of this show. This is the first of four episodes in which Ma'ah, the spotlighted Klingon lower decks officer, appeared. All of his other appearances were in the fourth and fifth seasons of this show.

This episode was a lot of fun even though it did feel like it was moving way too fast for me to keep up with it.
