Landmines

Ballard's team gets a new lead that helps them to narrow down the number of vehicles that they need to check. Parker gets her reserve badge. Colleen searches for the parents of Yulia, the dead cleaning women who worked at the motel. Ballard and Rawls drive out into the hills in search of a suspect. They find him but Ballard doubts that the suspect has anything to do with the Pearlman or Wilson murders. It was his car and what little profile they had of him that led her to believe that he might.

Chastain, Ballard's ex-partner dies in a car accident. Ballard goes to the funeral but only after Laffont urges her to do so. Laffont and Parker also attend the funeral. 

Ballard and Parker interview Javi, a gang member who is in police custody and who had a gun in his possession that was used in a murder. That interview later leads them to suspect that Anthony Driscoll, a former LAPD detective, might be behind a ring of police officers who are reselling guns confiscated by the LAPD to cartels. Javi also helps them to identify the missing John Doe from the case that Parker worked five years prior.

Martina has another date with Manny, the police officer who hit on her in the previous episode. The episode ends with Manny meeting with Driscoll.

Thoughts

Is Olivas connected to Driscoll? Is Driscoll just another name another dirty cop or is he directly related to one of the murders that the cold case unit is investigating?

This episode was loaded. There was all kinds of things going on. I'm enjoying this show very much but I'm afraid that they are going to do something that will just make it seem too incredible to me.
