Chapter X

Rikki Carter is coming to Winchester. Her imminent arrival is causing quite a stir. CORE, under Coco's leadership, is planning to do something about it. She cuts a deal with the devil, Kurt, to help CORE achieve their goal.

Dear White People 2.09

Chapter IX

Sam goes home for her father's funeral. Coco and Joelle go with her. Sam has some trouble coming to terms with the way she finds things when she gets there. She gets angry when she finds out that her mother didn't tell her that her father was in the hospital for a second time. Sam isn't sure what to say at her father's funeral until she finds a letter he left her in the pages of The Godfather. She also finds a book on secret societies on her father's desk.

Chapter VIII

Gabe interviews Sam for his documentary. The interview takes place in the sound booth from which Sam usually broadcasts her radio program, Dear White People. She turns on the recording equipment in the studio so that she will have a copy of everything that is said, in case he quotes her out of context.

Chapter VII

Troy goes on a quest to figure out who he is. He has spent his life trying to please his father, until he got arrested. Since then he has been wandering a bit, without purpose. He tries stand up comedy at the beginning of this episode without much success. He asks Kurt about his performance on stage. Kurt turns around and asks him about his inner self, his comedy self.

Chapter VI

Lionel wants to restart the school newspaper. He puts a little effort into turning his room into the new headquarters for the paper. He invites Silvio to show him what he did but Silvio is dismissive of his ideas for a headline article. Lionel ends working with Brooke on one of his story ideas, finding out who is behind the @AltIvyW twitter account.

Dear White People 2.05

Chapter V

Joelle's life feels off. She is Sam's sidekick. She's sneaking around helping Gabe with his documentary. Things start to look up when she meets Trevor, a guy in one of her classes, who doesn't live in Armstrong-Parker. He takes her to the food lab. She shows him the underground railroad station beneath A-P. She has a hard time talking him into seeing what she loves about A-P. She finally convinces him to come and watch TV in the common room at A-P but very quickly she starts to see through him.

Chapter IV

Coco is having fun doing her thing but when she feels that James, one of the other members of CORE, is trying to take over she decides that it is time to make her move. Her only problem is that she has another problem: she's pregnant. Kelsey, her roommate since things got crowded in Armstong-Parker, figures it out and then tries to console her. She urges Coco to tell Troy.

Chapter III

Lionel goes to some parties with Silvio on Pride Night. Lionel hopes for more than he gets from Silvio. He feels awkward and out of place at the parties. He tries to make conversation but gets brushed off at most of the parties. Lionel decides after the third party that he's had enough of Silvio, who has spent the night looking for a set of keys that he left somewhere, and takes off.

Dear White People 2.02

Chapter II

Reggie is still dealing with trauma from the incident in 1.05. He doesn't know how to deal with it. He sometimes thinks he sees the security officer that pulled a gun on him but usually it's just his imagination. He goes on a bender with Troy and Kurt. They drink and get high together. He goes on a sexual bender without them after that. Troy's been getting a lot of sympathy sex since he got out of lock up and encourages Reggie to do it.

Chapter I

Two weeks have passed since the town hall meeting. There was a fire at Davis Hall after the meeting but no one has officially been blamed or taken responsibility for it. The displaced residents of Davis have been moved to Armstrong-Parker.
