House Arrest
Tony takes some advice from his lawyer. He starts visiting one of the legitimate businesses that he's invested in: Barone Salvage. The idea is to mislead the Feds as to his actual activities. Tony gets bored. He's got someone to run the business. Tony doesn't want to work.
Hanging out at Barone also leads to him learning about some of Richie's antics. One of his trash trucks dumps a load of garbage in the parking lot of a client who is angry that he got billed for pickups that didn't happen. One of Richie's guys is selling blow from the trash truck. That's a big no-no. Tony confronts Richie about it. Richie doesn't care for Tony laying down the law. He goes to Uncle Junior, who doesn't want to hear it.
Tony goes to see Dr. Melfi. He says he's doesn't see the point of the therapy sessions. She talks him into not giving up on the therapy. Elliot, her therapist, doesn't approve. He thinks she needs to pass Tony off to another psychiatrist. He also thinks she has a drinking problem and needs to enter a 12-step program. She doesn't sign off on either opinion. Later in the episode she gets kicked out a restaurant for verbally harassing a woman who is smoking.
Uncle Junior meets a woman who knew his older brother in high school. He is reluctant to talk to her because he is under house arrest. She knows about his background but not about the house arrest, until he finally tells her.
Tony has another panic attack. Eventually he stops hanging around at Barone and goes back to Satriale's.
Thoughts
This was a solid episode.A number of regulars make an appearance or two but for the most part this is Tony, Uncle Junior, and Dr. Melfi are the ones in the spotlight. Once again I like how the three different stories interact with one another. The title refers to Uncle Junior's story but Tony and Dr. Melfi also feel trapped. There is no jaw dropping moments in this one, which makes it is easy to forget, but this is part of the greatness of this show.
