The Army of One

Jackie Jr. hides out in the projects but he goes out for walks and one day he gets wacked. The hit man is Viro Spatafore, who works for Ralph. Jackie's mother is heartbroken of course.

The FBI decides to try something new. They assign Agent Deborah Ciccerone to get close to Adriana. She does just that without too much trouble.

Paulie gets into an argument with Ralph. He gave Ralph some information that helped his guys rob a check cashing place. They got away with $100K. Paulie wants half. Ralph has yet to pay him anything. Paulie asks for a sit down meeting with Tony and Ralph. Paulie expects that Tony will rule in his favor, but he doesn't. Tony decides that Ralph should pay Paulie $12K.

Amour Fou

Tony and Gloria get back together but things continue to be a roller coaster ride for them. Tony tries asking Dr. Melfi about Gloria but she won't discuss Gloria with him. Gloria encounters Carmela at the Mercedes dealership. Gloria offers her a ride home as a professional courtesy. Carmela has no idea who Gloria is and accepts. Gloria quizzes Carmela about her life on the drive there.

Jackie Jr. to try to make it big time. He asks Ralph for advice and gets a story about how Jackie Sr. and Tony Soprano robbed a card game back in the day, before they were made men. Jackie Jr. starts getting ideas. He decides they should rob a card game. He picks one run by one of Ralph's men, partly because he's tired of Ralph telling him what to do. He's convinced that robbing the card game is the ticket to easy street.

Pine Barrens

Tony sends Paulie and Christopher to pick up some money that is owed to Silvio. Paulie gets into an argument with Valery, the guy who owes the money. A fight breaks out and they think that they've killed him. They load the body into the trunk of Paulie's car and head for the Pine Barrens to get rid of the body.

Tony is getting ready for a meeting with Slava, Valery's boss. He asks if they got the money. Tony isn't happy when Paulie tells him what happened and what they are getting ready to do. Tony tells them to make sure that no one ever finds the body.

To Save Us All from Satan's Power

Christmas is coming. Pussy used to play Santa Claus at the party that they would throw for the neighborhood kids. They have to find someone else to play the part. Silvio and Paulie suggest that Tony should do it but he says no. Bobby winds up getting the job, against his will.

Tony has a few flashbacks to 1995. Jackie Aprile was still around, running the show. Pussy was already compromised but they didn't know, at the time. He was sent to Boca Raton to broker a meeting between Uncle Junior and Jackie. Tony realizes in retrospect that all Pussy's excuses at the time were cover ups for meetings he was probably having with FBI agents.

The Telltale Moozadell

Carmella's family surprises her on her birthday. Tony gets her an expensive ring with a big stone. AJ gets her the DVD of the Matrix. Meadow gets her a gift certificate for a spa. There is a party at the house in her honor that night. Her parents and Janice are also there. Jackie Aprile, Jr. shows up. He's really there to pick up Meadow but he brought a bottle of wine as a present for her mother.

Christopher and Furio take over a nightclub. Chris turns it over to Adriana to run. She is very happy. A young drug dealer gets kicked out on opening night. He goes to his friend who in turn goes to Jackie Jr. for help. Jackie Jr. agrees to help him out.

He Is Risen

Ralph Cifaretto is still angry at Tony for hitting him after he killed one of the dancers in 3.06 (University). Tony asks Ralph to have a drink with him but Ralph refuses. Ralph thinks Tony owes him an apology. Ralph and Rosalie Aprile are supposed to come over for dinner on Thanksgiving. Tony doesn't want him there. He tells Carmella to uninvite them. Carmella doesn't like it but she does it. She makes up a story about having to cancel Thanksgiving because her father is sick. Word gets back to Ralph about it.

Second Opinion

Uncle Junior undergoes surgery and has a tumor removed. He feels good, everyone is happy until it turns out that they didn't get everything. Doctor Kennedy, his surgeon, days they will need to operates again. Tony thinks his uncle should try a different doctor. He talks him into seeing another doctor at a much more prestigious hospital. This leads to chemotherapy and when Dr. Kennedy finds out that his patient has a new doctor he stops returning Uncle Junior's calls. Tony has to step in and intimidate Dr. Kennedy into talking to Uncle Junior, who worships the ground that Dr. Kennedy walks on

The Sopranos 3.06

University

The title of this episode reflects one of the two stories that dominate it. Caitlin, Meadow's roommate at Columbia, is depressed. She is from Iowa. She isn't used to life in New York. She was very perky and upbeat when she first arrived but no more. She intrudes on Meadow and Noah just as they are starting to make out. She's pulling out her hair. She is getting on Meadow's nerves.

The other story is set in the Bada Bing. Ralph is as usual out of control. He is goofing around in a very dangerous way with Georgie, one of the bouncers. Ralph quotes some lines from Gladiator, the Russell Crowe movie, but Georgie didn't see it so he doesn't know what Ralph is talking about. Ralph starts pushing Georgie around. Georgie doesn't fight back because Ralph is a made man. Ralph ends up injuring one of Georgie's eyes before someone finally get Ralph to knock it off.

Employee of the Month

Dr. Melfi is excited about her break through with Tony. She shares that news with her ex-huband who is possibly more excited that she is but not so much about the breakthrough as much as he is just excited to hear her talk about Tony Soprano. Dr. Melfi's excitement dies when Tony doesn't follow through with a promise he made to her to keep a log of moments he feels anxious.

Ralph takes Jackie, Jr. with him when he goes to collect from one of the businesses that owes him money. The owner gets violently angry so Ralph and Jackie, Jr. beat him up. Tony isn't happy when he hears about it. Tony also takes that opportunity to let Ralph know that he is putting Gigi Cestone in charge of Richie Aprile's old crew. Ralph wanted the job but Tony thinks he's a little too hot headed and too cozy with Rosalie Aprile.

Another Toothpick

Vito Spatafore's nephew gets put into a coma. The man who did it is Mustang Sally. It was a crime of passion but that doesn't matter to Vito or Tony. Gigi Cestone is the captain responsible for dealing with the situation and he suggests to Tony that Bobby Baccalieri, Sr. should be the one to handle the job. He is Mustang Sally's godfather. Bobby, Jr. isn't too happy about the decision and tries to get Uncle Junior to intercede on his behalf.

Tony brings Carmela to one of his sessions with Dr. Melfi. It doesn't go well. Carmela takes most of Dr. Melfi's questions as personal attacks. Tony and Carmela get into an argument in the car after the session, while they are driving home. Tony gets a speeding ticket. He tries to get the cop to look the other way but he won't.

Fortunate Son

Christopher gets made. It seems to create more problems for him than it solves. Paulie hands over his bookie business to Chris but that just adds to the stress when the business has a bad week. He owes Paulie a cut of the money he makes. Paulie isn't very understanding.

Jackie Aprile, Jr. is chafing under the collar. He blames Tony for what happened to his Uncle Richie. Tony seems to calm him down when he lies to Jackie and tells him that Richie is in the witness protection program. Tony wants Jackie to stay in school and stay out of trouble. He specifically tells Christopher to keep Jackie away from any family business.

Proshai, Livushka

Tony collapses after watching Meadow and Noah, a guy from one of her classes, head back to Columbia. They came over to the house to watch a movie because the VCR in the dorm was broken. It was a movie for a class they were taking. Tony gets agitated because the guy is biracial, part Black and part Jewish. He doesn't want Meadow dating that kind of guy. He tells the guy but doesn't tell Meadow. He has a panic attack after they leave and collapses. Carmela finds him.

Livia, Tony's mother, dies in her sleep. Barb and Janice, Tony's sisters, come to town for the funeral. Livia didn't want a funeral but they end up having one anyway. Tony and Barb seemed ready to forego the funeral but Janice is the one who pushed it.

Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood

The FBI gets a warrant to bug the Soprano's basement. They don't want the family to find out about it so they have to install it when no one is home. They figure out that the best time is on Tuesday afternoons when everyone, including Lilian, the maid, is out of the house. They have agents tail everyone as they leave the house just in case someone comes back early.

The FBI has to break in first to case the joint and figure out the best place for the listening device. They focus on the basement but they do wander a little bit into the kitchen. Everything goes pretty smooth.

Funhouse

Tony has a bad experience with some food he ate. He wakes up sick. He goes back to bed. This happens several times. In between, while he sleeps, he dreams. He has lots of crazy dreams. In one he set himself on fire, on the boardwalk, in front of  a bunch of friends and associates. In the second one he watched from afar as he killed Paulie over a game of checkers. In another dream he went to see Dr. Melfi. One minute everything was normal and the next she had become Annalisa from 2.04 (Commendatori).

The Knight in White Satin Armor

Richie tries to get some support for a move against Tony. He turns to Larry Parisi's son but is unsuccessful in convincing him. He tells Uncle Junior about it and that he is planning to move against Tony anyway. Uncle Junior takes this as a sign and tells Tony.

The Sopranos 2.11

House Arrest

Tony takes some advice from his lawyer. He starts visiting one of the legitimate businesses that he's invested in: Barone Salvage. The idea is to mislead the Feds as to his actual activities. Tony gets bored. He's got someone to run the business. Tony doesn't want to work.

The Sopranos 2.10

Bust-Out

Tony loses his cool when he gets a visit from the FBI and one of the local police departments. He later finds out the reason for the visit: someone saw him leaving the scene of the crime. They saw that he was with someone else, but the eyewitness couldn't identify the other person. Tony talks to Neil Mink, his lawyer, and Dr. Melfi. He makes plan to skip town in case things get bad.

From Where to Eternity

Chistopher is in the hospital, in the Intensive Care Unit. He isn't in great shape. The episode revolves around what happened to him and the fallout from it.

Full Leather Jacket

Meadow's friend Hunter got early acceptance at the school of her choice. Meadow feels left out and doesn't like the schools that her parents want her to attend. She wants to go to Berkley. They want her to go to Georgetown or Notre Dame. A letter arrives from Berkley explaining that her application is incomplete. Carmela sees it before Meadow does. At first she throws it in the trash but later she feels bad about what she did. She secretly retrieves the letter and gives it to Meadow.

The Sopranos 2.06

The Happy Wanderer

David Scatino (Robert Patrick), a guy Tony knew in high school, gets in trouble, first with Richie and then Tony. He borrows money from both of them with which to gamble and loses big time. He winds up owing Tony about 5 times what he owes Richie. Tony does not go easy on Scatino, whose son Eric is a classmate of Meadow.
