Shinishi lives with his grandfather. His parents were killed in a flood when he was young. He claims to have met a spaceman. Banta and Goro tease him about his claim, which leads Shinishi to cause Danbei's cows to stampede.
Shinishi eventually apologizes for what he did. Goro shows him around the ranch. Shinishi is quite taken by the TFO. He runs off and meets a spaceman, who works for the Vegans. Shinishi thinks that the spaceman is his friend and seems to think that his parents are up in the sky. He hopes that one day the spaceman will take him to see his parents.
Shinishi is given instructions to find Grendizer. He makes his way to Professor Umon's headquarters. He starts looking around the outside and almost gets himself and Kouji killed. Duke Fleed rescues them. Shinishi runs away again but this time he is captured by the spaceman in a saucer beast. Duke Fleed in Grendizer rescues him and destroys the saucer beast.
Thoughts
This one was a little better than I feared it would be but still not good. It all just flowed too quickly. Shinishi was the main character in this story. The regular cast members more or less played supporting roles.
The fight at the end was ridiculously fast. Duke Fleed did something that I haven't seen him do before. He used some x-ray vision trick to figure out where Shinishi was in the saucer beast. I'm pretty sure that power is something he is only able to do in Grendizer.
