Mars shows Nola what he found. Someone defaced some of the posters she put up. It really gets to her. She finally takes Clorinda's advice and goes to see a therapist. The doctor recommends that she do something nice for herself. She takes the advice to heart and goes clothes shopping with Clorinda. She falls for a little black dress that costs over $500. Clorinda tries to talk Nola out of buying it but Nola needs it.
Nola goes out to dinner with Jamie. She wears the LBD. It's a little too much for Jamie. He tries, unsuccessfully, to get her to keep her jacket on. She knows he is married but he says that he and his wife are separated. She feels like he wants to keep her as a secret. He gives her a ride home and wants to come in but he's got one thing on his mind. She gets angry when he suggests that she shouldn't have worn that dress if she didn't want that kind of attention.
The next night Nola goes out with Mars. He takes her to a concert. She wears the dress again but with a jacket over it. They are having fun but when the DJ starts dancing with her Mars get protective. He gets even more protective when another guy starts hitting on Nola. She doesn't care for the way Mars tries to stand up for her. She doesn't want that sort of attention. He walks her home but she doesn't invite him in.
Nola goes to see Greer at his loft apartment. She wears the LBD and a leather jacket. Greer gets very turned on. He wants to have sex but she doesn't. He takes pictures of her but once again she doesn't care for the sort of attention she is getting from him and leaves.
Thoughts
She bought the dress for herself. It made her feel good but her encounters with Jamie, Mars, and Greer undid that effect. This was a decent episode even if I'm still not head over heels for this show. I do feel strangely compelled to keep watching. I want to see where it goes and as always the look of the show is gorgeous, possibly too gorgeous.
