She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 3.03

Once Upon a Time in the Waste

Catra and Scorpia start to explore the Crimson Waste. They arrive in the same saloon where Adora, Glimmer, and Bow met Huntara. Huntara's discarded followers try to intimidate Catra but she turns the tables on them. They reveal that Adora, Glimmer, and Bow are in the Crimson Waste. Catra decides that they need to find them.

Adora, Huntara, Glimmer, and Bow explore Mara's ship. They find a hologram of Mara but it keeps repeating the same thing in a loop. Adora gets frustrated but then she discovers that her sword is the key. It unlocks more of the ship's information including a much longer recorded message from Mara. They learn how Mara brought Eternia into Despondos, an empty dimension, to protect it from the Horde. She warns Adora not to open a portal back to the universe because it will mean death for Eternia.

Catra and Scorpia go in search of Adora and the others. They walk into a trap set by Tung Lashor. He attempts to intimidate them but Catra deals with him and takes over his gang. Catra finally gets what she wants when they arrive at Mara's ship. Catra and her new gang surprise Adora and her friends. Adora gets captured but Huntara escapes with Bow and Glimmer, whom she has to carry out because they are unconscious.

Catra, Scorpia, and her new gang celebrate. Catra is planning to take Adora's sword to Hordak but Scorpia tries talking her into staying in the Crimson Waste. Catra doesn't give her an answer but instead goes to have a chat with their prisoner, Adora. Catra learns from Adora that Shadow Weaver is in Bright Moon. Catra is incensed by that information. She leaves Adora and goes back to see Scorpia and announces that they are going back.

Thoughts

This one opens with a western feel to it but I'm not sure it sticks with that. The title is clearly an homage to a movie with a similar name. Glimmer and Bow don't get to do a lot in this episode other than follow Adora around.

Scorpia blushes a lot in this episode. Catra does her best to not get sucked in by Scorpia's flirty mood. Catra can do no wrong in this episode. She will probably eventually get her comeuppance but for now she is on top of the world.

There is lots more background filled in. Mara is shown for the first time in her natural form, when she isn't She-Ra. She wasn't born on Eternia, or at least that's the impression I got.

Huntara, Glimmer, and Bow will probably rescue Adora in the next episode.

I like this one a lot. I thought at first it was going to be all Catra and Scorpia but I like how they jump back and forth between the two groups before they all come together at the end.
