Tom Wade (Tom Tyler) aka the Cheyenne Kid, an undercover lawman, and Dopey Andrews (Jimmie Fox), his sidekick, work to get the goods on a bunch of cattle rustlers. They cross paths more than once with Girard (Lon Chaney, Jr.), one of the heavies of the cattle rustling operation. Tom and Dopey are helped by Sally Lane (Lucile Brown), another undercover agent, who works for Rollins (Theodore Lorch), the brains behind the cattle rustling operation.
I didn't think that much of this movie. It feels like it was thrown together fairly quickly.
Jimmie Fox was never billed higher in a feature length movie than he was in this one, according to IMDB.
Tom Tyler got his start in Hollywood as a stuntman. He starred in a lot of b-movie westerns and also played the title characters in The Adventures of Captain Marvel (1941) and The Phantom (1943).
Lon Cheney, Jr. was billed as Creighton Chaney on movie posters but as Lon Chaney, Jr. in the credits on the screen. Theodore Lorch was in at least two more movies that starred Tom Tyler: Orphan of the Pecos (1937) and Lost Ranch (1937). Lucile Brown doesn't show up until the second half of the movie, even though she is billed as one of the stars of the movie.
