Storia Americana

The episode opens with a montage of moments. Loy uses the ring he got from Ethelrida to make a deal with the Fadda family consigliere. Cannon keeps his word and his gang moves their contraband out of the Smutney house. Leon tries to kill Loy but he gets garroted by Opal. Happy gets gunned down by some of Loy's men at Spud's All Night. Josto kills his father-in-law to be and Dr. Harvard and burns their bodies. Joe Bulo, who is working with the Fadda family consigliere, tells Josto that Cannon is dead. Nurse Mayflower gets out on bail and is brought back to the Fadda headquarters.

Josto is accused by the Fadda consigliere of killing his brother and father. He tries to deny it but no one is willing to listen. The consigliere is in charge and calling the shots now. Joe Bulo takes him and Nurse Mayflower out into the country to ditch that is ready for them. He kills them both.

Loy Cannon arrives home with his wife and two daughters. The door to their house is open. He tells his wife and the girls to stay outside. He pulls out his gun, goes to investigate and discovers that Satchell has returned.

Cannon has a meeting with new boss, the former Fadda consigliere. He tells Cannon that the deal has changed. The Italian mob is taking half of his operation. Cannon can play ball or they will kill him. Cannon grudgingly accepts half. He goes home, walks up to his house. He looks through the window and sees his family happy. He doesn't see Zelmaire. She walks up behind him and stabs him in the back and then the front, repeatedly.

Thoughts

I think some time passed between the filming of the first nine episodes and the filming of these last two. Satchell and Ethelrida both look older to me. 

I'm not crazy about this ending. It makes sense that Loy did not survive but as with a lot of things at the end of this season it felt rushed. 

I'm not sure what else to say about this episode. The 10th episode didn't impress me. It had it's moments and this one did too but this season did not stick the landing in my opinion. There were a few too many irons in the fire or balls in the air. Something was bound to get dropped. I wish this season was more focused like the movie and the first three seasons of the show.
