Dear White People 3.01

Chapter I

The season begins with Sam, Lionel, and the Narrator, right were the previous season ended. The story then flashes forward 3 months.

The rest of the episode is mostly Al. He runs around campus trying to get as many signatures as possible on a petition to get Winchester declared a sanctuary campus. He runs into everyone who is anyone (on Dear White People): Reggie, Joelle, Sam, Troy, Silvio, Lionel, James, Coco) but most of them decline the offer to sign the petition.

The episode ends with Al talking to Silvio and then listening to someone give a speech. A bunch of people are listening to the speech-giver. The narrator is there, but doesn't interact with anyone.

I wish I had more to say but I'm not sure what else there is to say without describing all the little moments. Al isn't in every scene but he keeps popping up. There are a couple references to Netflix. It seems like a clean start. Al is a bit concerned because everyone seems to be acting out of character. I'm sure that some of the little moments will be followed up in future episodes but not much seemed to stick out other than Al.
