starring Harold Lloyd, Jobyna Ralston
directed by Fred C. Newmeyer, Sam Taylor
59 minutes
Harold (Harold Lloyd) meets and falls in love with a woman (Jobyna Ralston) while on his wasy to a friend's wedding. Harold finds his life turned upside down by his wife and his new in-laws. His mother-in-law and his two brothers-in-law (one an adult, one a child) create all sorts of problems for Harold.
Thoughts
I saw this movie as the front half of a double feature. The back half was Girl Shy (1924), another Harold Lloyd film. The order that they were shown in is not the order in which they were released.
Many of the gags in this movie revolve around one of two things: a car that Harold has bought and Harold's mistaken belief that he has accidentally killed his mother-in-law.
This is one of seven films that Jobyna Ralstin appeared in with Harold Lloyd.
This movie was okay but I felt that it was just a series of gags. Not enough was invested in depicting the depth of his relationship with his wife or in-laws. His mother-in-law was not billed second but in many ways felt like the number two character in this film.
