I could have watched Black Swan on Hulu. I chose instead to borrow the DVD from the library because it included this documentary. Black Swan Metamorphosis is broken into three parts. Part One is about shooting in New York City. Part Two is about shooting in Purchase, NY where the scenes at the theater were shot. Part Three is about the special effects, practical and digital.
Most of the people interviewed for this documentary were members of the crew: Darren Aronofsky (director), Matthew Libatique (cinematographer), Scott Franklin (producer), Andy Weisblum (editor), Mark Heyman (writer), Thérèse DePrez (production designer), Kurt Froman (assistant choreographer), Dan Shrecker (visual effects supervisor), Mike Marino (prosthetic FX artist), Shawn Lipowski (3D artist). Actors Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis, and Winona Ryder were also interviewed.
This documentary brought back memories and embellished the experience of watching Black Swan. Totally worth it.
