Dax
Jadzia Dax is abducted by Ilon Tandro. He accuses her of treason and the murder of his father, Ardelon Tandro. Sisko confronts Ilon about the kidnapping. Tandro shows him an arrest warrant for Dax. Tandro claims to have been working within the terms of treaties between Klaestron IV, his home world, and the Federation. Sisko sees it differently and insists on having a Bajoran extradition hearing.
Arbiter Els Renora arrives on Deep Space Nine and convenes the hearing requested by Commander Sisko. Odo travels to Klaestron IV to see what he can learn in the hopes of finding something to help clear Dax's name. Jadzia Dax refuses to speak in her own defense or explain why she won't defend herself. Sisko and Doctor Bashir point out that it is Curzon Dax not Jadzia Dax who is accused of the crimes in the warrant.
Odo learns that Ilon Tandro's mother, Ardelon's widow, has vital information. She has kept it secret because it would tarnish her husband's reputation. Ardelon Tandro is a war hero on Klaestron IV. Her conversations with Odo convince her to step forward. Her evidence convinces the Arbiter Renora to deny the extradition request.
Thoughts
This was a very good episode. It isn't great but it helps to shed more light on the Trill symbiont-host relationship. It makes it clear that it is not exactly as presented in TNG 4.23 (The Host). That both reassures me and makes me wonder more about the symbiont-host relationship.
