She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 1.13

The Battle of Bright Moon

She-Ra, Glimmer, Bow, and Swift Wind go to Bright Moon.

Entrapta and Catra are very excited about how things are progressing. Entrapta explains that her contraption that is hooked to the Black Garnet is sucking energy from the other rune stones. It is making them weaker. Catra decides that now is the time to attack and the place to strike is Bright Moon.

She-Ra isn't sure what to do. She has some idea about what's going on. The Horde army is spotted heading for Bright Moon. Glimmer leads her friends to her armory. She's been keeping it a secret from everyone, except her mother who seems to know everything. They don't have much time to get ready before the Horde arrives.

Catra, Scorpia, and their army attack. She-Ra leads Glimmer, Bow, Swift Wind, Netossa, and Spinerella in defending Bright Moon and the Moon Stone. She-Ra gets into a one-on-one fight with Catra which leaves Bright Moon and the Moon Stone vulnerable to the rest of the Horde's army. It isn't until it is almost too late that she realizes what Catra is up to.

She-Ra loses her sword, after she's transformed it into a shield. She starts to doubt herself and believe all the mean things that Catra said to her while they were fighting. Things look grim when the other princesses (Mermista, Perfuma, Frosta) plus Sea Hawk show up to help defend Bright Moon. She-Ra dispels the crazy weather and restores the Moon Stone, which enables Angella to heal her daughter. The tide turns and the Horde is repulsed.

Catra returns to the Fright Zone and reports back to Lord Hordak. Entrapta and Scorpia are there with her. Entrapta insists that this isn't a complete failure because she has learned considerably more about First Ones technology. Hordak seems to accept this claim and appoints Catra as his second in command.

Thoughts

Where are Bright Moon's soldiers? There are plenty of Horde soldiers but the only ones fighting to defend Bright Moon are She-Ra, Glimmer, Bow, Swift Wind, Netossa, Spinnerella, and Queen Angella? Something doesn't seem right to me about that.

Entrapta is a princess but she doesn't have elemental powers or a rune stone. She speculates that Scorpia doesn't either but that is never clarified one way or the other. The Black Garnet used to belong to Scorpia's family so that implies that she probably does have some latent powers but that is pure speculation on my part.

I wasn't too surprised when the other princesses showed up to help save the day. I expected that would happen but I was starting to have my doubts and when they did show up I got a little misty eyed.

What happened to Shadow Weaver? Will she return next season? If so, what sort of a role will she play?

Decent end to the season although there are some moments that didn't ring right to me. I'm interested in watching more but as usual I will be taking a break from the show.
