She-Ra and the Princesses of Power 1.12

Light Hope

Adora meets Light Hope. It isn't their first encounter but for once it lasts a while. Adora isn't entirely comfortable, even though she is there of her own freewill. Light Hope tries to put her ease by changing her form but that doesn't help.

Glimmer is chomping at the bit. She wants to find Adora, even though she isn't healed yet. She and Bow are talking about Adora when there is a knock at her bedroom door. A guard is there with Swift Wind, the horse that She-Ra transformed in 1.03. He is there to collect Glimmer and Bow. He wants them all to go and find Adora. Glimmer is ready to sneak out when her mother shows up and orders her to find Adora.

Light Hope tells Adora about the First Ones, they were travelers from beyond the stars. The First Ones appointed a champion for Etheria, She-Ra, but something went wrong and Adora is the first She-Ra in 1,000 years. The whole planet is First Ones technology and the princesses powers come to them from rune stones, also first ones technology. Light Hope explains that Adora needs to unite the Princesses in order to restore order to Etheria.

Catra pushes Entrapta to keep working on weapons. Entrapta explains to Catra that the First Ones tech is much bigger than weapons. Entrapta has figured out most of what Adora has learned from Light Hope. She explains it all to Catra and Scorpia. She thinks that their best hope to "hack the planet" is to gain access to a rune stone. They are in luck because the Fright Zone has a rune stone, the Black Garnet.

Light Hope tells Adora that Glimmer's problem has to do with her connection to her rune stone. She needs to learn about her powers but according to Light Hope it will take her years to master her powers. She also tells her about the previous She-Ra, Mara, who couldn't cope with the burden placed on her. Adora recognizes the name Mara from the time she spent with Madame Razz.

Catra and Entrapta start to work with the Black Garnet but they are interrupted by Shadow Weaver. She tells them to leave immediately but Hordak appears on a screen and explains to Shadow Weaver that they have his blessing. Shadow Weaver strikes out at Catra but Catra beats her at her own game and Shadow Weaver is restrained. Entrapta finishes tinkering and turns on the device she has attached to the Black Garnet.

Glimmer, Bow, and Swift Wind find the Beacon. Swift Wind is able to get them in. They find Adora but she is asleep. Her sword is next to her. Swift Wind reaches into Adora's mind and convinces her that her friends need her. She needs to wake up and help them. Adora comes to just in time to save them from giant spider robots. They leave the Beacon only to see that the weather has gone nuts throughout Etheria as they head back to Bright Moon.

Catra sees what Entrapta's device has done and is very pleased.

Thoughts

I love how the bits and pieces of Etheria's past are revealed through the back and forth between Adora and Catra.

Isn't Entrapta a princess? I thought she was. If she is then shouldn't she also have a rune stone?

What is up with the power that seems to be emanating from the Beacon at the same time that Entrapta's device is turned on? Is it a byproduct of Entrapta's device or is it trying to counter it?

There's a lot packed into this little episode. There's only one episode left in the season. I'm not sure how much things are going to change in that one episode but if nothing else this one has shown that anything is possible.
