Thoughts
This episode introduces the romance of Batman and Wonder Woman which will continue to flow through this season and into Justice League Unlimited.
It was funny how quickly the Kasnian switch sides in this series. I was surprised at how quickly the aircraft carrier split in two. The look on Batman's face when he announces that he has redirected the railgun to fire at the Kasnian palace was priceless. He looked so happy!
What happened to King Gustav? I don't think he was dead but he might have been in a coma. Either way there is no explanation of his status at the end of the story or at all in this episode for that matter.
This is the first appearance of Kasnia in the DCAU although it had been mentioned in episodes of Superman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond prior to this. It also shows in two episodes of JLU: 1.04 (Hawk and Dove) and 3.08 (The Great Brain Robbery).
This is a fun one. It flows very fast. I wouldn't call it a favorite but it doesn't make me want to roll my eyes and it introduces the Batman-Wonder Woman romance.
