Watch Out for Snakes

Ray takes Bruce to see an old friend. Ray stays in the car but then Bruce's friend has to get Ray to help him because Bruce is stuck in the easy chair and can't get up.

Freddy wants Ray to talk to Kate, the daughter of a friend of his. She's a writer and she's working on a true crime book. Ray says no but he eventually meets with her. She agrees not to publish anything that he doesn't want in print. He doesn't seem very reassured by that.

Ray and Gary go to a department store and then head out of town, into the woods. They hang out and talk for a while, until it gets dark. Ray gets dressed in a ghillie suit and heads off into the dark. Gary stays behind with the car. Ray stops when he gets near a house. He stays there all night.

The next morning the people in the house gets some guests. One of the guests is Vinnie, the guy Ray has been hired to kill. Ray keeps watching until Vinnie goes for a walk with the dog. He trails Vinnie but then he gets picked up by a surveillance system. Vinnie sicks the dog on Ray. He shoots the dog and then takes off into the woods. Gary heard the shots and is ready to leave by the time Ray gets back to the road.

Ray reads Brittany the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. She questions everything Jack does. He breaks into the giant's castle, he steals the giant's stuff, and then he kills the giant when he comes after Jack. Ray adds a bit at the end of the story in which the police catch Jack and lock him up for the rest of his life.

Thoughts

Not much going on here but I like the bits that make up this episode. There's no mention of Ally. I thought for sure that while Ray was reading to Brittany she was going to ask about Ally but she didn't. 

I think that the guy with Vinnie might have been Dave who was last seen in the last couple episodes from Season 1.
