The Tiger
Lorraine decides to have Dorothy committed, for legal reasons. Roy visits Lorraine in the hopes of getting Nadine back. Lorraine is unwilling to play ball. She offers to pay him for his trouble if he will sign some documents and never come back again. Roy is unwilling to play ball.
Dot doesn't waste any time. She escapes from the hospital room they put her in. She takes a nurse's clothing and ID badge. She encounters some difficulty getting out of the hospital.
Roy sends three of his men with Gator to execute Plan B, kidnap Wayne. Dot overhears who they are looking for while she is trying to escape and tricks them into kidnapping the wrong guy.
The FBI shows up at the hospital looking for Nadine. They run into her in the hospital. She plays nice until she finds a chance to duck out a window, but not before Gator spots her.
Officer Olmstead arrives at Lorraine Lyon's home just as Sheriff Roy is leaving. Lorraine turns the tables on Officer Olmstead, who wants to know why Lorraine had Dot committed but is there to tell her that Dot just escaped, by asking her about the $192K of personal debt she is carrying. Dot shows up while Officer Olmstead is talking to Lorraine and sneaks off with Scotty who arrived at her grandmother's place at the same time as Officer Olmstead.
Officer Olmstead returns home and finds Dot in her home. Dot asks her if she can leave Scotty with her for a few days while she takes care of some business. Indira Olmstead is extremely reluctant to do that but then she has a change of heart, after her husband walks in, and she agrees to look after Scotty.
Thoughts
Ole Munch and Trooper Farr are not in this episode, as far as I can tell. This episode was on the short side, just 43 minutes. There is some narration in this episode, not too much but I'm not sure what to make of it.
I wasn't expecting Roy to try and talk his way into getting Nadine back. I wasn't surprised when Lorraine sent him packing.
Roy and Nadine were married Jun 3, 2007. She ran off in 2009. This season of the show takes place in 2019. She mentions the fact that she met Roy when she was 15 and was married to him just a couple years later.
I get the impression that Lorraine doesn't care for Roy Tillman. She has some respect for Dot for escaping from the first kidnapping attempt. Its hard to say what she knows or thinks about Dot's actions during the second attempt.
I'm not sure what to think of Gator at this point. He saw Dot at the hospital and could have pointed her out to his father's men but he didn't.
I watched this episode twice. I enjoyed it the second time around as much as I did the first but I don't think that there was much of anything significant that I missed on the first viewing.
This was an excellent episode. I love the way it unfolds. I love the mix of humor and tension in this episode. It seems to set things up nicely for the second half of the season and whatever happens there.
