Tom meets a copy of himself that he ordered and for which he paid $30K. Tom knows that he is going to die soon and he doesn't want his wife and two children to be without him. The copy looks and talks exactly like Tom.
Tom gets angry and rejects the copy. He calls the company that provided his copy with the intention of returning him but then he changes his mind. He starts to talk to his copy and slowly he starts to calm down and bond with new Tom.
This is an anthology series. I don't know if the order in which the episodes are watched matters. I notice now that I have finished watching the first episode that the order on Amazon is not the same order as on the Wikipedia page. According to Wikipedia I just watched the second episode.
New Tom, according to Wikipedia, is a robot but it wasn't clear to me that this was the case. I assumed that new Tom was a genetically engineered clone.
Anthony Mackie played the parts of Tom and new Tom. I know him best from the Marvel films.
I was pretty impressed with this episode. There were moments when I thought it was sagging a bit, where Anthony Mackie's performance wasn't quite doing it for me, but those moments were brief. On the whole I was very really quite satisfied with this episode.
