Peg

Peg, a 71-year-old woman, reflects back on her life as she rides alone in a spaceship, away from Earth. Her only companion on the trip is TYM, the ship's speaking computer. Peg does most of the talking. She recalls her parents, who died when she was fairly young; a boy she had a crush on and kissed once; and how she came to be on (what seems like) a one way trip away from Earth.

Thoughts

Peg was played by Helen Mirren. I've seen her in numerous things from The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) to The Queen (2006) plus many more.

There is a reference made to a robot named Tom 2. I didn't make the connection but according to Wikipedia that is one of the characters from the previous episode. The only connection that I made (while I was watching) is that both stories took place in the same world.

I found this to be very moving. It was the way Peg talked about her life that got to me. I also like how it started and ended. In the middle I wasn't sure how it would resolved itself. This episode set the bar pretty high. I can't imagine any other episode in this series topping it.
