Formation! The Worst Tag
Ichigo's group of six are split into four groups as they fall to the ground. The four grouping are (1) Chad, (2) Orihime and Uryū, (3) Ichigo and Ganju, and (4) Yoruichi. The four groupings each wind up in a different part of the Seireitei. Ganju cushions his and Ichigo's landing by turning the group below them to sand.
Two Shinnigami grom 11th division, Madarame and Ayasegawa quickly find them. Ganju takes off running. Ayasegawa takes off after him. Madarame stays behind to deal with Ichigo.
Madarame and Ichigo fight. Madarame quickly learns that Ichigo isn't a pushover. Madarame transforms his sword into a spear by joining it with the hilt. He later transforms it into a three part staff. He takes Ichigo by surprise but it isn't enough to overwhelm him.
Ganju runs from Ayasegawa until he finds himself trapped by a large pit covering his path ahead. He tricks Ayasegawa into helping him get across the pit.
Thoughts
There is a brief glimpse at Rukia in the tower as she looks out the window and sees the flash of light when the group of six crashes into the barrier that protects the Seireitei. There are a number of Shinnigami within the Seireitei that appear in this episode but none of them get more than a line or two.
This is another solid episode. I love that they introduced some new characters as they continue to flesh out the universe.
Notes
The opening theme music changes with this episode. The new song is D-tecnoLife by UVERworld. The opeing theme music for episodes 1-25 episodes was *~Asterisk~ by ORANGE RANGE.
The closing theme also changed. The new closing music is Hōkiboshi by Younha. The closing theme music for episodes 1-13 was Life is Like a Boat by Rie fu. The closing theme music for episodes 14-25 was Thank You!! by Home Made Kazoku.
