David and Maddie fly back to Los Angeles together. He acts as though he went to the funeral and the reception. She doesn't tell him that she went to the reception or about what she learned.
Thoughts
None of the guest stars are familiar faces to me but the one who played Tess was very good in her scene with Maddie.
This is a really good episode. I wasn't won over by the first half. The musical number felt a bit misplaced. The second half was another story. This one definitely deepens Maddie and David's relationship. It's not my favorite episode but it belongs in the upper tier of episodes of this show.
