The Resolution to Kill
The fight between Ichigo and Renji continues. Ichigo remembers something he learned from Urahara and thinks he has spotted a weakness in Renji's style. It turns out that Ichigo's assessment of the situation is incorrect. Renji gets the upper hand. Ichigo seems to be on the verge of losing and maybe getting killed when he remembers something else from one of his training sessions with Urahara. Ichigo gets reinvigorated by the memory and disarms Renji by breaking his sword.
Urahara and his three assistants are in this episode. Rukia is seen briefly a few times in her jail cell. Toruichi makes a brief appearance. Chad, Orihime, and Uryu are not seen in this episode.
This is a decent episode although the pace of the storytelling seems to have ground down to a snail's pace.
