Sam is off to his first day at Denton University. Elsa made an appointment for him at the special needs office but Sam skips that and instead hangs with a couple of other students that he just met. He decides to move into a dorm. He gets nervous at the last minute about his decision to live in a dorm.
Casey goes with Sam to check out the dorm. They meet his roommate who's name is also Sam. Sam discovers that his new friends don't even remember his name and seem a bit cruel. Casey tells him about her first day at Clayton Prep and they wind up agreeing to be one another's emotional support person.
Casey has problems of her own as she begins her junior year at Clayton Prep. Everything seems fine with Izzy but her boyfriend turns on Casey once Izzy is out of earshot. Casey gets in trouble for bopping his milkshake and getting it all over him.
Elsa and Doug go to couples therapy again. Elsa spills, after Doug asks, about how it was that her affair with Nick started.
Thoughts
Zahid shows up briefly in this one but there is no sign of Paige or Julia.
Doug looks as though he is contemplating an affair with Megan, the single mother whom he met last season. He uses something that Elsa shared in their therapy session and lies to her when he gets a text from Megan.
I like it. I like how things are developing and I'm eager to see where things go from here.
