Invincible 1.06

You Look Kinda Dead

Mark and the others are rushed to the hospital. Mark eventually recovers. He wants another chance with Amber. She gives it to him. They go with William, Mark's friend, to visit Rick, a guy on whom William has a crush. It is supposed to be a nice relaxing trip. It is not.

Eve decides she's had enough of her parents. She takes off on her own to do good, something other than fighting alien invasions and supervillains.

Nolan starts to suspect that Debbie knows more than she is letting on. He spies on her and finds her talking to Art Rosenbaum, the tailor. She has the bloody uniform. Art analyzes it. The evidence seems to indicate that Nolan killed the Global Guardians.

Mark and Amber get into a fight after he disappears while they are being attacked by a cyborg monster of sorts. The cyborg turns out to be a college student who has been experimented on. The cyborg gives Invincible a run for his money. The fight ends when the cyborg sees its reflection in a pool and then kills itself.

William recognizes that Invincible is Mark. Amber goes to a party after getting invited by a guy she doesn't know. Mark follows her there but then he winds up having to help William. Rick has been turned into the same kind of cyborg monster that attacked them earlier in the episode. Mark gets beaten up again but not as badly as in the previous episode. The mad scientist, who created the cyborg monsters from college student, is defeated in the end. 

Robot goes to some lengths to help Monster Girl recover from her injuries. He also continues to interact with the Mauler Twins. They are doing something for him.

Thoughts

This show can be really gross. This episode is a good example, maybe the best one so far. 

The mad scientist worked really fast. He must have the transformation process down to a science.

This episode is a little too gross for me to be objective about it. The show on the whole is a bit of a downer. I think I'm going to finish the season but I'm not sure that I will be clamoring for more.
