Meet the Max Louis
Dave hires Max Louis to replace Bill. Dave wanted to hire someone else but the staff of WNYX insist that he hire Max when they find out that he was a friend and former co-worker of Bill.
Max is lacking in confidence. He gets worried he is going to get fired as soon as he gets hired. He doesn't make any effort to learn anyone else's name. Dave finally convinces Max that he isn't going to fire him.
Electrical devices in the office break due to something to do with the Year 2000 Crisis. Joe does what he can to fix the devices that break.
Max Louis is played by Jon Lovitz. Lovitz appeared on two previous episodes of NewsRadio but he played other characters on those two episodes.
There was no opening credits to this episode, possibly to disguise the fact that Jon Lovitz was joining the cast of the show. I don't recall if the opening credits return starting with the next episode.
I thought this episode was delightfully silly with a few serious notes.
