Bilko Goes Around the World
Sgt Bilko tries to win $20,000 by flying around the world in 80 hours. He makes arrangements for flights but at the last minute his place is taken by a young boy named Sidney.
Colonel Hall was not in this episode.
This episode seems like advertising for the movie Around the World in 80 Days. This is at least the third episode this season which felt like advertising for something else. The other two were the Bing Crosby and Ed Sullivan episodes.
Bernard Fox played the part of the agent in Trinidad. This is his only appearance on this show. He is best known to me for playing the part of Dr. Bombay on Bewitched.
Mike Todd, the producer of Around the World in 80 Days, played himself in this episode. He died in a plane crash less than a year after this episode first aired. He was married to actress Elizabeth Taylor at the time.
Bob Hastings played the part of USAF MSgt Mack. This is the second of 8 appearances he made on the show. He has more than 175 screen credits according to IMDb. He played the voice of Superman in a number cartoons in the mid to late 1960s. He played the voice of Commissioner Gordon on Batman: The Animated Series and other DCAU shows.
