Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose

Johnny decides that he wants to throw a small Christmas party. Moira, David, and Alexis really aren't interested but in the end they humor him

Thoughts

This episode was funny in the early going but then it got sentimental in a way that really doesn't speak to me.

Schitt's Creek 4.12

Singles Week

Everyone is running last minute errands just as Singles Week is about to begin. Moira is supposed to be giving the key note speech at the Singles Week kickoff event but then Jocelyn goes into labor. Alexis is forced to start Singles Week all on her own. David has a chat with Ted who tells him that he broke up with Heather. Jocelyn gives birth. Ted shows up at the Singles Week kickoff event and tells Alexis how he feels about her.

Thoughts

This was a good episode. It was very heartfelt. It didn't have quite as much humor as I like but I guess I can overlook that in this case.

Schitt's Creek 4.11

The Rollout

Johnny and Stevie talk to David about the moisturizer that they bought from his store. Stevie has a rash. Johnny suspects that it was caused by the moisturizer. He later finds out that it is the flower arrangements that he pulled together (which include poison oak) that caused the rash.

Moira and Jocelyn both get summons for jury duty.

Mutt returns to town. Alexis has a talk with Mutt which leads to her having a talk with Ted which leaves Ted looking very distraught.

Schitt's Creek 4.10

Baby Sprinkle

Jocelyn talks David into helping her plan her baby shower, after her sister back out of doing it. Alexis runs into an old friend who wants to hire her away from Schitt's Creek. Moira and Johnny go to a singles event as a means of doing research for the planned single's week.

Thoughts

It didn't feel like there was very much to this episode. I think I chuckled a few times but I don't recall laughing very loudly.

Schitt's Creek 4.09

The Olive Branch

Patrick finds out that David has been holding out on getting back together with him because of all the gifts that Patrick has been giving him. Johnny buys Stevie a make-up kit. Moira shoots down Alexis' business idea only to discover that the town council loves it.

Thoughts

This episode was okay but falls short of the greatness that this series sometimes achieves. There was one scene with Patrick and David where the actors looked like they were about to break character and laugh.

Schitt's Creek 4.08

The Jazzaguy

Johnny joins Moira's singing group. Everybody loves having him there but when they get a moment alone Moira levels with him, she needs him to leave the group.

Stevie drags David out of bed and takes him to a spa where everyone thinks that they are newlyweds.

Alexis tries her hand at meeting guys via a dating app, Bumpkin. She goes out with a guy who knows Ted but when she reveals that she used to date Ted he walks out on her.

Thoughts

This was a fun episode, I laughed more than once, nothing too intense but very funny in places.

Schitt's Creek 4.07

The Barbeque

Patrick buys David a big cookie to celebrate their four month anniversary. Johnny, Moira, and Alexis find out about the anniversary. Johnny insists on having a barbeque to celebrate. David is not amused by the suggestion but he doesn't have a choice in the matter.

Alexis gets a text from Ted. It looks like it might not have been intended for her but she thinks it was. Rachel, one of the guests at the motel, recommends that Alexis tries the direct approach with Ted.

Thoughts

Johnny gets some help from Roland in getting the barbeque going. I love how clueless Johnny is when it comes to barbeque. 

Schitt's Creek 4.06

Open Mic

Patrick suggests that Rose Apothecary needs to do something to attract more customers. He recommends having an open mic night. David is against it but Patrick goes ahead with the idea.

Moira accidentally finds out the sex of Justine's and Roland's baby well before it is born. Roland was hoping to keep it a secret because it is a family tradition going back hundreds of years.

Alexis helps Johnny and Stevie work on the branding for the motel.

Thoughts

This was another very good episode. I laughed at bits from all three plot threads.

Schitt's Creek 4.05

RIP Moira Rose

A story circulates on the internet that Moira is dead. Large quantities of flowers and gift baskets pour in. David and Alexis go to visit Heather who makes goat cheese, which David hopes to sell in his store. Heather is dating Ted which leads to an awkward meal with all four of them. Roland asks Johnny to be the godfather to his child.

Thoughts

I really enjoyed this episode. All three story lines made me laugh. Best episode of the season so far. I loved how uncomfortable things got at lunch for Alexis and Ted.

Schitt's Creek 4.04

Girls' Night

Moira learns that Alexis is still interested in Ted. David is teased by Patrick and Stevie until he admits that he's lousy at compromising. Roland makes some suggestions to Johnny as to how he could improve the lobby area of the motel.

Thoughts

This was a decent episode. It feels like there will be some future payoff for some of the stuff that happened in this episode, probably by the end of the season.

Schitt's Creek 4.03

Asbestos Fest

Moira has trouble getting herself worked up to perform at Asbestos Fest. Roland tries to convince Johnny to hire him to do odd jobs about the motel. David and Patrick discover, thanks to Alexis, that the teens who have been hanging around their store have been shoplifting.

Thoughts

This was okay. I might have chuckled a few times but I don't recall laughing harder than that.

Schitt's Creek 4.02

Pregnancy Test

Johnny finds a used pregnancy test and jumps to the conclusion that Alexis is pregnant. He tells Moira and David but doesn't know how to broach the subject with Alexis. Moira finds out that it is Jocelyn who is pregnant, not Alexis.

David's relationship with Patrick gets turned sideways when he finds out that Stevie is dating Jake once again.

Alexis visits Elmdale college for the first time and discovers that it doesn't look like it does in the brochure.

Thoughts

This was fun and funny but it also feels like they are building towards something more. It's good but not great.

Schitt's Creek 4.01

Dead Guy in Room 4

One of the motel's guests dies in his sleep. Stevie and Johnny try to keep the other hotel guests from finding out about it. Johnny tells David and Alexis that they need to move out temporarily so that an incoming guest can stay in their room until they can clear the dead body out of room 4.

Alexis goes to see Ted. She winds up helping him interview candidates for her replacement.

David asks Patrick if he can stay at his place. Patrick misunderstands why until Moira stops by the store and wants to talk about the situation with the dead body.
