Brute Force
The trial of Rupert Thorne is about to begin. The prosecution's star witness is Julian Gregory, Thorne's accountant. Edward Nygma, one of Thorne's enforcers, is in charge of finding the accountant (aka the squealer) and bumping him off.
Nygma turns to Hugo Strange for some help. Strange gives him a solution that Nygma injects into one of his unsuspecting lackeys. The lackey grows to monstrous proportions and attempts to murder the squealer. Batman, Montoya, and several other police officers get in the way of the monster man.
The fight ends when Batman kills the monster man with his car, although it takes several attempts to get the job done. The accountant makes it to court and testifies against Thorne, but the judge throws out the case against Thorne.
Thorne is very pleased but then he can't stop laughing on the drive home. His chauffeur is amused by what is happening to Thorne while Thorne's son is horrified.
Thoughts
I believe that this is the first appearance of Edward Nygma in this show. He sports the colors that the Riddler wore but there is yet to be any indication that he will be anything other than a thug in this show.
I was very pleased with the first season. This was a strong start to the second season. I am eager to see what comes next.
