Planet of Evil - Part Three
The Doctor survives the fall into the pit and makes it back out alive. Sarah sneaks out of the spaceship and is there to greet the Doctor when he climbs out of the pit. He collapses and has to be carried back to the Morestran spaceship on a stretcher. Salamar orders the anti-matter removed from the spaceship over Professor Sorenson's objections.
Sorenson manages to keep some of the anti-matter without letting anyone know about it. The antimatter infects Sorenson. His eyes start glowing but after drinking some brew he gets is under control and his eyes stop glowing. Sorenson attacks and kills Morelli who was taking some antimatter that the Doctor still had on him to the ejection port. Later he kills De Haan.
The Doctor and Sarah get blamed for the Death of De Haan. Salamar has them placed in ejection tubes and starts to eject them out into space just as the episode is ending.
Thoughts
I'm a little confused by the anti-matter. I thought this planet was in another universe but the Doctor indicates in this episode that the pit is the doorway to the anti-matter universe. How was Sorenson able to collect anti-matter without crossing over to the antimatter universe?
I'm still enjoying this story. It is still moving forward but it's also kind of lame. Sorenson might be the most interesting character but the most interesting thing about him is the make up and the weird drink.
Notes
Prentis Hancock played the part of Salamar. This is the third of four Doctor Who stories in which he appeared. The next story in which he appeared, The Ribos Operation, the first part of The Key to Time story, is the only other one that I have seen. He was also part of the cast of the first season of Space: 1999.
Ewen Solon played the part of Vishinsky. This is the second of two Doctor Who stories in which he appeared. The first was The Savages, a First Doctor story which is lost.
