Dear White People 3.09

Chapter IX

Brooke continues to try and get Muffy's story. Muffy won't talk to her.

Troy and Abigail hire Al to work on Fried Chicanery, the magazine they are starting. They try to recruit Lionel but he isn't eager to join them. Troy turns to James for funding and talks him into it until he sees what they've got planned.

Gabe wins a grant and then feels guilty that he got it, at least in part, because he claimed to be Native American. Sam stands by him but it isn't enough. He tries returning the money but the head of the committee talks him out of it. Gabe sends all the money to D'Unte who doesn't question where it came from.

Lionel finds a picture of Moses Brown with the Narrator which he shares with Sam.

Thoughts

Reggie and Joelle are not in this episode, although he is mentioned more than once in connection with Moses Brown.

It feels like this show is headed to a cliffhanger. It does not feel like they are getting ready to wrap everything up in the next episode which is also the final episode of the series.

I'm enjoying these episodes but it still doesn't feel as if the show is headed anywhere in particular.
