We'll Always Have Baltimore
Joe goes to Correcti-Con in Baltimore with Linda. They spend a lot of time hanging out at the convention together. He left Taystee with some filing to do while he is gone. She gets bored with the filing and decides to apply her skills elsewhere. She breaks into his computer and uses it to conduct internet searches. She learns about his band, Sideboob.
Chapman goes to see Piscatella. She drops hints that the Latina prisoners are making her and others feel unsafe. This leads to a shakedown of the Latina prisoners. They get stopped and frisked for no reason. Mendoza tries pointing out the injustice to Piscatella but he has no time for her complaints.
Ramos gets the backstory spotlight. She was pulling scams in a nightclub when a bigger operator convinces her to work for him. He has a scam going that he wants her help with. The scam blows up in her face and she ends up running scared after stealing a Ferrari.
Morello and Suzanne try to figure out who has been pooping in the shower. They team up but don't find any evidence that points to anyone in particular. A chance encounter with Kukudio leads Suzanne to wonder if she might be the one.
Ramos comes up with a plan to sneak the underwear worn by the Latinas out of Litchfield. It doesn't exactly go off without a hitch. She doesn't realize it but one of the new guards is on to her.
Cindy's feud with Abdullah, her Muslim bunkmate, continues. The prison is short on tampons and Cindy is unwilling to help her bunkmate out.
Aleida runs into Poussey and Soso while she is studying in the library for the GED. Soso tries to be helpful but isn't.
Danny Pearson shows up at Correcti-Con. He interrupts Linda's response to a question at a panel discussion. He calls into questions the real motivation behind correctional facilities. Security shows up to throw him out but then Joe gets involved and they both get arrested.
Chapman continues with her plan to deal with Ruiz and the other Latinas. She organizes a group to try and make the prison a safer place. Chapman doesn't realize it until midway through the first meeting but most if not all of the inmates who show up are white. Chapman loses control of the meeting as most of them start chanting "white lives matter".
Thoughts
There are a lot of characters who are not in this episode: Healy, Big Boo, Pennsatuckey, Dayanara, Red, Vause, Berlin, Whitehill, to name a few. This episode was Danny Pearson's first since 3.12 (Don't Make Me Come Back There). He is scheduled to appear in two more episode this season and it looks like that will be it for his character.
There are a few reveals that seem like they might bear fruit in future episodes. Abdullah has a smart phone hidden in her hijab. Piscatella is gay. The new guards seem dangerous. I have to wonder how long they will be around. I also wonder how long Joe and Linda's relationship will last. Danny referred to her as Satan.
I still say that there is too much going on in this season. It has just gotten to be a bit too big of a world. I hope they get back to and provide some resolution to some of the threads that weren't addressed in this episode. I'm still enjoying the show but I'm starting to lose wonder.
