Knights of Sidonia 2.08

Reunion

Teams of Gardes work on repairing the breach in the hull caused by the weapons test. Tsumugi causes a bit of problems flying around the work site a little too quickly. Yuhata moves in with Nagate and Izana. They didn't invite her to but they are too polite to say no. 

Izana goes to visit Yure, her grandmother. Yure notices the changes in Izana's body and insists that they dress up in some revealing clothes she used to wear when she was younger. They get dressed up and go out for a bite to eat but then Yure gets called away and Izana has to return home alone. She is very nervous about being seen dressed such as she is.

Izana is mortified when she runs into Nagate by chance. They are spotted by Yuhata who sees them from a distance. She recognizes Nagate but doesn't recognize Izana. She later finds out that it was Izana she saw with Nagate.

Izana, Nagate, and Tsumugi spend another shift doing repairs. Izana gets annoyed when she sees Tsumugi and Nagate flying back to the hangar holding hands. Nagate tries talking to Izana but she doesn't want to have anything to do with him after that.

Yure sees her granddaughter tell off Nagate. She pulls Nagate aside after Izana has left and orders him to go on a top secret mission. She wants him to take Izana with him. He doesn't know it but it is clearly a date. She tells him that he can't tell Izana who sent them on the mission.

Nagate gets Izana to go with him. She gets excited when she hears that they are going to Senshukyo. It is known as the 1000 Year Village and is supposed to be one of the most beautiful places in Sidonia. They leave the next morning. They don't tell Yuhata and Tsumugi what they are up to but the others already know because they overheard Nagate asking Izana to go with him.

The episode ends with Nagate and Izana holding hands in Senshukyo.

Thoughts

I'm not sure why this episode is called Reunion. The story continues to wiggle this way and that. There weren't many side characters in this episode. It was mostly just the ones mentioned above. There is no nudity in this episode but there is a certain amount of fan service.
