Before I Went to War
Ray finds out that one of his friends committed suicide after getting in over his head in debt. The debt was caused by a scam. Ray goes after the guy who was running the scam.
Gary takes his first job as a porn director. It turns out to be two men who want him to film them. Gary seems to take it pretty much in stride. They want him to tell them what to do but he does his best to put it back on them.
Ray goes to his father's apartment and gathers up some of his clothes. He goes to the home where his father is now living and drops off the clothes. He doesn't want to stick around but his father begs him to. Ray stays and listens to his father's confession about how he came back changed from the war in Vietnam.
Thoughts
The last scene was moving but that's not enough in my book. There was a little too much of Ray being an inhuman bad ass to satisfy me. I understand that there are lots of people that eat up those kinds of moments with a spoon but I've had my fill. I need more human moments and fewer superhuman ones. It is a little too one note for me.
