A truck labeled Regalo Helado crosses into the United States at the Santa Teresa, New Mexico Border Station. It passes inspection and the driver continues on. Miles down the road he stops alongside the highway to retrieve a hidden revolver. He delivers the truck to El Griego Guinador, the restaurant out of which the Salamancas run their operation. Mike sees the truck arrive at the restaurant and makes some notes.
Jimmy and Kim move forward with their plans to open a joint office. Kim delivers her resignation letter to Howard in person. He acts very gracious. She then meets with the folks from Mesa Verde to try and talk them into staying with her. She got a good feeling from the meeting but has yet to get anything in writing. She and Jimmy pick out an office.
Howard delivers the bad news to Chuck about Mesa Verde going with Kim, who has just quit. He asks for Chuck's help. He has a meeting with Mesa Verde in an hour. Chuck insists on being at the meeting. Chuck sows seeds of doubt in the mind of the executive from Mesa Verde to the extent that Mesa Verde decides to stick with HHM.
Jimmy calls in a favor and bluffs his way on to an Air Force Base to get some footage of a B-29 with a veteran of the war. He has the same crew with him shooting footage that he has used in the past. It goes smoothly enough and they don't get caught.
Mike continues to spy on the Salamanca operation and takes notes. This time at a new location. He sees the Regalo Helado truck taken into an old building. Hector Salamanca hangs around outside. Mike watches from a distance.
Kim tells Jimmy about what happened with Mesa Verde. He still wants to move forward with the office lease. That night he goes to see Chuck, who is in very bad shape. He didn't want Mesa Verde to know about his condition so he insisted on not turning off electronic devices during the meeting.
Jimmy sees boxes labeled Mesa Verde in Chuck's home office. He takes some of the documents to a copy center and makes doctored copies of some of the documents. He changes street addresses on them and then substitutes the changed documents back in for the originals while Chuck is sleeping.
Kaylee helps Mike with what seems to be a gardening project. It turns out to be something more sinister but she leaves before that becomes clear.
Thoughts
Nacho is not in this episode. Hector Salamanca is only seen from a distance. The title of the episode is a reference to the name that is painted on the side of the B-29.
Mike is watching His Gal Friday in the final scene of the episode. I'm not sure if there is any special significance to that movie or if they just wanted to show that he likes watching old movies. I'm pretty sure that Mike is out for revenge against the Salamancas although so far there is no insight in to why he thinks he can get away with it.
What's next for Jimmy? I don't think Chuck will know anything is wrong until something goes wrong. I do think he will suspect that Jimmy is responsible once it does. I think that Jimmy's stunt might push Kim away from him, if and when she finds out about it.
Howard seemed very slick in this episode. He treated Kim incredibly well when she announced she was leaving. He even told her not to worry about repaying the money she owes HHM for putting her through law school. I also thought it was a little slick of him the way he manipulated Chuck into coming into the office to meet with Mesa Verde.
This was a decent episode. I liked it but it is building to something. The end didn't feel like a proper end to the episode, which is not unusual for this show.
