Lindsey gets in trouble for hitchhiking with Kim. Harold and Jean, Lindsey's parents, find out about it because the guy who picks them up knows her father. They decide to invite Kim's mother over for dinner. Kim's mother is on her best behavior. She leaves Lindsey's parents with the impression that Kim is the problem. They order Lindsey to stop hanging out with Kim.
Sam, Bill, and Neal gets tired of getting picked last for teams in gym class. Bill decides to do something about it. He gets the list of phone numbers for the teachers and crank calls their gym teacher. The first time he calls he pretends to be Gordon Crisp's father.
Kim gets angry at Lindsey when she finds out what Lindsey's parents think of her. Nick isn't talking to Lindsey. Daniel begs Lindsey to be friends with Kim again, which she eventually does.
Lindsey's parents go into her room in the middle of the day and read her diary. Mrs. Kelly, Kim's mother, recommended they do that. They don't like what they find there, especially Lindsey's mother. Their daughter wrote stuff about them that make them sound dysfunctional. It set Jean off on a course to try and do something new and different.
The second time Bill crank calls Coach Fredericks he just insults him. Coach Fredericks figures it has to be one of his students. The next day he talks to all of them individually until he figures out who did it. Bill explains why he did it which leads to Coach Fredericks making Bill one of the team captains the next day. Bill picks Sam and Neal for his team.
Thoughts
This a decent episode. There were no real good laughs but I enjoyed it. I didn't find either story to be particularly compelling although they did have their moments.
