Bilko gets concerned when he learns that Colonel Hall wants him to take a physical fitness exam. He tries leading his men on a 20 mile hike but he only makes it a quarter mile before he has to turn around and head back. He tries working out at the gym. He tries working out with the guys who are in the best shape but he can't keeo up with them. He tries the next group down but they are also too tough for him. He winds up with a couple other master sergeants who are just throwing a ball around.
Bilko gets the impression that the most important thing for the test is his vision. He memorizes the eye chart. He goes in for the test, without his glasses. He tries to impress the Captain administering the eye test but it quickly becomes clear that he can't see without his glasses.
Bilko's fear is that Colonel Hall wants to use the test results to kick him out of the Army. Colonel Hall thinks that Bilko wants out of the Army, but the colonel isn't ready to let go of him just yet. Everything works out in Bilko's favor in the end but not before Colonel Hall almost gets Bilko to swear off card games and all the other shenanigan's he likes to pull.
Thoughts
This was a good one. It isn't the best but it was fun to watch Bilko try to get back into shape and then try to fool the medical officer. I could easily see myself watching this one again.
