Quiver

Johnny starts to give lessons to large group of teens who recently joined his class. Most of them don't last very long. Within a few lessons the group has thinned out. Demetri and Eli are among those who decide to leave. Miguel tries to get Johnny to take it easy on the others. Miguel's words and an old cassette trigger some memories for Johnny of what he was like when he first got interested in karate.

Sam continues to get harassed by other students in school, mostly over the internet. Miguel crosses paths with Kyler in school. Kyler doesn't give him a hard time. He doesn't say anything to Miguel. He just turns around and walks away. Miguel and Sam work together in biology class.

Doctor Who (1963) 1.01.04

The Firemaker

The Docotor, Susan, Ian, and Barbara are recaptured and taken back to the tribe's home. The Doctor and Ian lead a rebellion against Kal who tries to take over while Za is unconscious. Kal is driven from the home of the cave people.

Za assumes command and has the strangers put back in the Cave of Skulls. A guard is placed at the rear entrance so they cannot escape that way. Ian makes fire. Za shows up just in time to see the fire begin to burn. He takes the fire and shows it to the tribe. They are impressed. They do not let the Doctor and the others go.

Susan and Ian come up with a plan. They place four skulls on burning sticks of wood. When the tribe enters the cave they are scared of the burning skulls. The Doctor, Ian, Susan, and Barbara escape while the tribe is looking in awe at the burning skulls. Eventually the tribe realizes that they have been tricked and go after the strangers.

Romy (Mira Sorvino) and Michele (Lisa Kudrow), best friends since high school, head back to Tuscon, AZ for their 10-year high school reunion. They remember a lot of things about what what high school was like before they decide to go. They are nervous about what they will find and want to convince everyone they are very successful despite the fact that they are not.

They get into a fight on the way to the reunion. That leads to a weird dream about the reunion and then the actual reunion itself. The actual reunion works out differently than the one in Michele's dream. Things go worse at first but then they get better.

When They See Us - Part 4

This installment can be easily broken into two pieces. The first hour of this 88 minute episode is focused on Korey Wise. It begins with him getting convicted and sent to Riker's Island. He spends the next 13 years of his life in prison. He moves around a little bit in that time. He spends a lot of time in solitary because it was safer for him. Other inmates wanted to hurt him for his supposed role in the crime that was committed in Central Park in 1989. Most guards were happy to look the other way. There was one guard who was nice to him.

Korey becomes eligible for parole more than once. He tries, the first time, to convince the parole board that he should be given another chance but they refuse to give it to him unless he accepts responsibility for the crime for which he was convicted. He can't bring himself to that.

Buck (Sidney Poitier), not long after the American Civil War, helps a wagon train of formerly enslaved people who are traveling west across the plains in search for a better place to live. They are pursued by a band of White men who are intent on convincing them, by whatever means needed, to turn around and go back to the misery they left behind in Louisiana. 

Buck crosses paths with Preacher (Harry Belafonte), a man who claims to be a be a wandering preacher. They get off to a bad start but wind up teaming up to try and protect the wagon train.

Doctor Who (1963) 1.01.03

The Forest of Fear

The Doctor and the others are unable to escape on their own. There is a big rock in front of the entrance to the Cave of Skulls. The Old Woman takes Za's knife. She gets into the cave via a secret entrance. She frees the Doctor and the others on condition that they agree not to teach the tribe how to make fire. They run into the forest.

Hur wakes up and tells Za that the old woman is going to free the captives. Za moves the great rock. Za and Hur are too late. The Doctor, Ian, Barbara, and Susan have escaped. Za and Hur go after them. They have almost caught up to the time travelers when Za is attacked by a great beast. Ian thinks it is their chance to make a run back to the TARDIS but Barbara insists that they help Za.

Hur is suspicious of the time travelers' motives but she allows them to help Za. They make a stretcher with wooden poles and coats. The carry Za through the forest and back to the TARDIS. They find a gang of cavemen led by Kal waiting for them.

Bilko Goes to Monte Carlo

Bilko comes up with a scheme to win at roulette. He convinces everyone he knows that the system is foolproof. He gathers up more than $5,000 from guys he knows. He is ready to go to Las Vegas when Colonel Hall forbids it.

Bilko instead winds up going to Monte Carlo. He gets a lot of help getting there from other soldiers and airmen. They all give him money with which to gamble  He gets to Monte Carlo, finds a casino, but then has second thoughts about gambling with other soldiers' money.

The Match Made in Heaven

This is the story of Randy "Macho Man" Savage and Miss Elizabeth. Their story is told through clips from the 1980s and 1990s, interviews conducted in 2017, and recreations. They were married in real life for several years. Randy was very controlling and that eventually pushed her to divorce him. She died in 2003 from a drug overdose, years after they got divorced. He died in a car accident in 2010.

The peoplr interviewed for this include Lanny Poffo (Randy's brother), Bruce Pritchard, Scott Hall, Eric Bischoff, Jimmy Hart, and Linda Bollea (Hulk Hogan's ex-wofe).

OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and Em Haywood (Keke Palmer), siblings, are trying to figure out how to make ends meet six months after their father passed away. Otis, their father and OJ trained horses for roles in movies. Something fell from the sky and killed Otis. Something mysterious has been spooking the horses that they have left, that they have not sold to pay their bills.

OJ thinks it is a UFO that is spooking the horses and spends what money they have buying surveillance cameras. He hopes to catch the UFO on film and sell the footage. They get some help setting up the cameras from Angel, who works at the store where they bought the cameras. They later get the interest of Antlers, an indie movie director. He helps them film the phenomenon once it has caused enough destruction.

When They See Us - Part 3

Antron, Ray, Yusef, and Kevin eventually get out on parole. Their families help them to different degrees. They all have to register as sex offenders.

Antron still holds a grudge against his father. His parents split up. His mother has taken his father, who is in really bad shape, back in. Antron gets a job at a movie theater. He stays there for a while. He starts to date one of his coworkers but it doesn't work out and once his parole is done he moves to Baltimore.

Ray moves back in with his father, who has remarried. His father's second wife doesn't like him. He finds a job. He reconnects with an old girlfriend. Things seem to be going pretty well but then he loses his job and starts selling drugs.

Kevin has lots of support from his mother, sister, and the rest of the family. He runs into Yusef, by chance at a meeting for sex offenders. Yusef has gotten married and is working with computers.

Rick and Morty 5.10

Rickmurai Jack

Rick continues to hang out with his two crows, until that relationship turns sour. Turns out that the crows had a relationship with a scarecrow before they met Rick.

Rick returns to his family after he splits with the crows. Morty aged himself to 40 and needs Rick's help to restore himself. Rick takes him to the Citadel. Morty gets restored to his youthful self. They have dinner with Evil Morty, who has plans.

Cobra Kai 1.05

Counterbalance

Miguel continues to train at the Cobra Kai dojo. Johnny sublets the space to a yoga class because he isn't making enough money to cover the rent. Aisha wants to join the dojo. Johnny laughs and says no until Miguel points out that Johnny is desperate for money.

Danny uses a bit of subterfuge to cause Johnny's landlord to raise the rent on the space he is renting for the dojo.

Robby, Johnny's son, tries talking to his mother. That gets him nowhere. He goes to see his father but changes his mind after he sees Johnny talking to Miguel. Robby applies for and gets hired at LaRusso Auto Group.

Sam confronts her friends and learns that Kyler claimed that she went down on him. She confronts Kyler in the cafeteria at school. He laughs it off. Miguel steps up and tells Kyler off. He gets into a fight with Kyler and his friends and beats them up. The other students are very impressed. A bunch of them show up later at the Cobra Kai dojo eager to sign up.

Danny goes to visit Mr. Miyagi's grave. He feels uncertain. He remembers something Mr. Miyagi told him. He goes home and clears some space and starts training.

Outlaw Star 1.18

The Strongest Woman in the Universe

Fred Luo hires Gene to make sure that Reiko Ando does not win the Strongest Woman in the Universe contest for the 5th consecutive year. He promises lots of money if he can deliver. If Reiko wins then Fred will have to marry her.

Gene tries to get Aisha to take part in the tournament but the organizers won't let her in the contest because she is Ctarl-Ctarl. Twilight Suzuka has no interest in entering the contest. Gene winds up disguising himself as a woman and entering under the name of Jenny Starwind. He finds out after he has signed up that Aisha has found a way to sneak into the tournament.

Gene's first match is against Reiko Ando. He loses and is out of the tournament. Aisha makes it all the way to the finals where she faces off against Lady Irago, who defeated Reiko Ando in the semi-finals. Fred is overjoyed to learn that Reiko lost but refuses to pay Gene because he had nothing to do with Reiko's loss.

Doctor Who (1963) 01.01.02

The Cave of Skulls

The Doctor argues with Ian who insists that what they are seeing on the screen in impossible. Ian thinks they are still in the junk yard. The Doctor opens the door and proves that they are not in the junkyard anymore.

The counter on the TARDIS indicates that they are in the year zero. The Doctor is convinced that it is malfunctioning and goes to look for evidence that will help him pinpoint the year in which they have arrived.

The Doctor disappears but the others find his gear. They go looking for him and find him in a cave that in inhabited by a group of cave people. Kal, one of the cave men, captured the Doctor and took him to the cave. Kal is arguing with Za, another cave man, when Susan, Barbara, and Ian arrive.

Za and Kal both want to lead the tribe but there is only room for one leader. Za claims he can make fire but so far he has yet to prove it. Kal is a great hunter who brings the group dead animals to eat. Kal saw the Doctor make fire with his hands and tries to use a threat of violence to convince the Doctor to make fire.

The Doctor says he will make fire but then realizes that he has misplaced his matches. The Doctor, Susan, Barbara, and Ian are tied up and placed in the Cave of Skulls.

Sergeant Bilko Presents Bing Crosby

Bilko hears that Bing Crosby will be passing through Kansas by car on his way from New York City to Hollywood. He calls Bing's office and gets him to agree to stop and make an appearance at Fort Baxter.

Bilko finds out that the visit has been canceled, the day before Bing Crosby is supposed to visit the base. Bilko has already sold more than $500 worth of tickets for Bing's appearance. He doesn't know what to do until he spots a guy who looks kind of like Bing Crosby.

Bilko hires Chester, the Bing Crosby-lookalike, to pretend to be Bing. The real Bing shows up in the end.

Dec 1944 - Two of the US sergeants quartered in Barracks 4 of Stalag 17 attempt to escape. They don't get very far. They only make it just outside the gate when they are shot by a trio of German soldiers.

Life goes on in Barracks 4. The Americans sense that someone in their barracks must be giving information to the Germans but they aren't sure who it is. This fact is confirmed, 35 minutes into the movie, but their identity is not revealed at that time.

J.J. Sefton (William Holden) doesn't get along with most of his colleagues. He trades in cigarettes. He bet against his two dead compatriots making it very far. He becomes very unpopular after a secret radio is found by the Germans. Sefton was no where to be found at the time.

Sefton's colleagues break into his foot locker and find all kinds of goodies. They learn that he bribed his way into a visit with some Russian women prisoners at the time the radio was stolen. They are convinced that he is the informant. More circumstantial evidence leads them to believe they are correct about Sefton. They beat him up, take his stuff, but Sefton continues to insist that he isn't the informant.

When They See Us - Part 2

Six months have passed since Kevin, Raymond, Antron, Yusef, and Korey were arrested. There is lots of attention paid to the case by the news media, locally and nationally. Donald Trump calls for the death penalty to be reinstated.

The parents of all five of the teens hire lawyers. Antron and Yusef's parents are able pay bail. Kevin, Raymond, and Korey have to stay behind bars leading up to and during the trial. Antron's father has trouble accepting the reality of the situation. He disappears for a while.

The case gets split. Kevin and Korey are tried in one case. Antron, Raymond, and Yusef are tried in another case. The prosecution's case is weak. There is no physical evidence that connects the five defendants. The victim has no memory of that night. Witnesses for the prosecution, mostly police officers, give conflicting testimony.

Rick and Morty 5.09

Forgetting Sarick Mortshall

Morty is goofing around with Rick's portal gun when he realizes that Rick is going to figure out what he's been up to. He attempts to replace the fluid in the portal gun and spills some of it on the palm of his left hand. It creates a portal which leads to Matt, another guy, who has a portal on his thigh.

Cobra Kai Never Dies

Johnny gets drunk and defaces one of Danny's billboards. Miguel's mother forbids him from taking lessons with Johnny after she sees what happened to her son. Sam continues to hold a grudge against her father for showing up at the dance. The object of her anger shifts to Kyler after she sees him bullying Miguel and his friends.

Robby, Johnny's son, gets into trouble again. Johnny tries to act resposible but Robby won't listen to him. Robby's mother won't listen either. Johnny begs Carmen to give him another chance as Miguel's teacher. She gives in and Johnny finds out just as he is about to shut down the dojo.

Between Life and Machine

The scene before the opening credits is about the differences between himans, robots, cyborgs, and bio-androids. Cyborgs are more or less augmented humans but bio-androids are something else. Are they really human?

Melfina is starting to have her doubrts about Gene keeping his promise to help her discover who she really is. She gets left behind when Gene and Jim go to meet with a potential client. The client turns out to be Ronald, the elder MacDougall brother. The meeting is all a scam to get Melfina alone so that Harry, the younger MacDougall brother, can swoop in and capture her.

Gene fights Ronald until he figures out what the MacDougall brothers are up to. Harry chases Melfina to the Outlaw Star. She gets inside before he can grab her. He uses his cybernetics to to enter the ship digitally. He tries talking her into opening the door but he pushes her a little too far and she lashes out and damages him.

Harry leaves empty handed and without his robotic arm. Gene and Jim get back in time to receive a mysterious message from a stranger whom they met once before. It is all about the Galactic Leyline.

Doctor Who (1963) 1.01.01

An Unearthly Child

There are some minor differences between this episode and the pilot but nothing major. Everything happens in the same order with some things changed slightly.

• Susan does not mess around with an ink blot test
• Susan's clothes in the second half of the episode are different from the pilot
• Ian does not try to wrestle the Doctor away from the controls of the TARDIS before it takes off

He-Man (Brian Cage) has been captured by Skeletor (Kevin Clark) and two of his minions, Evil-Lyn and Triklops. Skeletor is on the brink of taking control of Castle Grayskull. Teela (Mercedez Varble) works with Shadow Weaver to prevent Skeletor from consolidating his power.

Thoughts

I only found out about this fan-made movie by chance. I was searching for images from the Masters of the Universe (1987) movie when I came across an image of the poster for Fall of Grayskull. I looked a little more and found the movie on YouTube.

When They See Us (2019)

When They See Us - Part 1

Five teenage boys (Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise), all 14-16 years old, are brought in for hanging out in Central Park late at night. A white woman is found in the park that same night. She had been raped and was in critical condition. The NYPD suspects the teens raped the woman.

The boys try to tell the police that they didn't know anything about the woman or the rape. The police insist and keep questioning the boys, separately, and pushing them to admit to what they did and talk about what they remember about what the other boys did. Eventually they give in to the demands of the police and make false confessions, thinking that it will make it easier for them.

There are holes in the case. The D.A. has doubts but the police get one of the boys to confess in such a way that his story goes along with the known facts.

This installment ends with the 5 teens being hauled away after the D.A. has decided to press charges against them.

Orange Is the New Black 5.13

Storm-y Weather

Correctional officers in riot gear break into Litchfield and start to secure the building and the inmates. Some inmates fight back. Some do not. Some of the inmates in the bunker decide to leave. Berlin, Red, Flores, Chapman, and Vause are the ones who decide to stay put in the bunker.

A few other prisoners eventually join them in the bunker. Mendoza is one of them. She manages to get though to her mother, before she heads to the bunker, who lets her know that her son is going to be all right.

Leanne and Angie set most of the records they find on fire before they are apprehended.

Taystee and Cindy take Suzanne to the pharmacy in the hopes of getting her something that will wake her up. They don't find anything useful but Nichols leads them to the bunker where they use an EpiPen to wake her up.

Rick and Morty 5.08

Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort

Morty goes on vacation with his parents and his sister. Rick stays behind at the house. He uses the time alone to try and bring Bird Person back to life. His first attempt doesn't work. He winds up having to inject his consciousness into Bird Person's mind to figure out why BP is still in a coma. Rick meets a younger version of himself and togethere they team up to pull Bird Person out of the coma.

Esqueleto

Johnny's bills are starting to pile up he needs money to fund the school. He hangs up flyers around the neighborhood in the hopes of generating some interest in his school.

Danny worries that Kyle, Sam's boyfriend, is bad news. He volunteers to chaperone the Halloween dance. Sam is not thrilled when she learns that her father will be at the dance.

Miguel gets Johnny to teach him how to kick. The beginning of the training is a little unconventional. Johnny ties Miguel's hands together and then pushes him into a pool. Miguel has to use his legs to keep himself afloat.

Vegans come to Earth disguised as humans. They rendezvous with some strange looking sharks. They go to Marine Land in Yatohara where they set a trap.

Kouji gets an invitation to Marine Land in Yatohara. He takes Hiakru, Goro, and Danbei with him. Daisuke has to stay behind in case a saucer beast attacks.

An Unearthly Child - Pilot

Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright, two teachers at Coal Hill School, compare their experiences with Susan Foreman, one of their students. They are both impressed by her and somewhat puzzled. She seems to know both more and less than they expect that a student her age would know.

Ian and Barbara offer her a ride home. She declines the offer. They know where she lives. Barbara has even been there but it is odd because it isn't a home but an old junk yard. Ian and Barbra return to the address where Susan is supposed to live. They watch her enter the yard. They follow her in but she has disappeared.

Ian and Barbara look around the junk yard. They find a police box. It seems out of place and there's a humming sound coming from it. They are thinking about leaving when an old man enters the yard. They confront him. They think they heard Susan's voice calling to him from inside the police box. They ask him to open it but he refuses.
