Morty is goofing around with Rick's portal gun when he realizes that Rick is going to figure out what he's been up to. He attempts to replace the fluid in the portal gun and spills some of it on the palm of his left hand. It creates a portal which leads to Matt, another guy, who has a portal on his thigh.
Morty conceals what he's been up to when Rick returns. Rick decides he's had enough and replaces Morty with two crows. Morty goes looking for and finds Matt, the guy on the other end of the portal on the palm of his hand. They hang out together but Matt urns out to be a lot more vengeful than Morty, who starts to have second thoughts about hanging with Matt.
Rick meets some sentient, giant crows who teach him that the two crows he adopted can teach him all kinds of things. Everything goes well until they return to Earth where it is revealed that he adopted the two crows just to annoy Morty.
Morty deals with Matt but only by chopping off his own hand. Rick deals with the super sentient crows and then helps Morty to grow a new hand. Morty wants to hang out with Rick again but Rick has changed. He leaves Earth with the two crows.
Thoughts
This is part one of the two-part season finale. Beth is not in this episode. Summer is heard but is not seen. Jerry shows up briefly.
I like this episode. It's a kind of weird that works for me. I hope I will say the same thing or something similar after watching the next episode.
