Bilko hears that Bing Crosby will be passing through Kansas by car on his way from New York City to Hollywood. He calls Bing's office and gets him to agree to stop and make an appearance at Fort Baxter.
Bilko finds out that the visit has been canceled, the day before Bing Crosby is supposed to visit the base. Bilko has already sold more than $500 worth of tickets for Bing's appearance. He doesn't know what to do until he spots a guy who looks kind of like Bing Crosby.
Bilko hires Chester, the Bing Crosby-lookalike, to pretend to be Bing. The real Bing shows up in the end.
Bing Crosby's sons are mentioned in the credits on IMDb. I think they must have been in the audience in the final scene of the episode. Everett Crosby, Bing's oldest brother, is also in this episode. According to IMDb it is his only on screen credit. He does have some credits for writing.
This was fun but not great. It didn't feel like a complete waste of time. There were a few good laughs. Bing Crosby doesn't appear on screen until the end of the episode.
