De Kervern needs to get a look at the German's files on Essarts. He asks for Marie's help to forge a pass. She resists at first because it means lying to Raymond but in the end she agrees to do it.

Marcel Larcher needs to host a meeting for some higher level people in the Communist party. Gustave, his son, finds out about it and fears that his father is going to kill his rabbit and serve it to his guests. Gustave comes up with a plan to save Gustave's rabbit by using the ration tickets that he and Marceau took in the previous episode.

Müller interrogates the surviving members of the Jewish family. The father reveals that Lorrain is the first name of the man who was helping them but then deserted them. Müller also interrogates Sarah, from whom he learns that Lorrain was in fact Lorrain Germain. 

The Orville 1.04

If the Stars Should Appear

The Orville crosses paths with a much larger ship that is drifting in space. The Orville's sensors are unable to penetrate the hull of the ship to determine if there are any life forms aboard. Captain Mercer, Commander Grayson, Security Chief Kitan, Doctor Finn, and Science Officer Isaac take a shuttle and go investigate the big ship.

The away team finds a race of humanoid people living within the ship. The away team splits up Alara and Kelly head in one direction. They are accosted by two men who shoot Alara and take Kelly prisoner. The other three encounter a teenager who tells them about the world they have found. The people of the large ship don't realize that they are within a ship. They are ruled by a dictator named Hamelac who insists that their world was created by a being named Doral.

Mercer and the others find the wounded security chief and then go looking for Commander Grayson. They find her and use their superior technology to free her and deal with Hamelac and his goons.

Cobra Kai 1.09

Different But Same

Johnny shows up at the LaRusso house ready to fight. He's angry about what happened to his car. Danny refuses to accept the blame for what his cousin did. They are about to fight when Amanda interrupts and convinces them to sit down and talk it out.

Miguel gives Samantha the cold shoulder when she balks at the idea of him meeting her parents. She suggests they go out again. He says he can't because needs to train for the All-Valley Tournament.

Amanda talks Daniel into giving Johnny a replacement for the car his cousin destroyed. Danny takes Johnny to the dealership and lets him pick from the used cars that people have traded in. Johnny selects a sports car but he wants to take it for a test drive first.

Aisha sees that Yasmin insulted her online. She then sees that Yasmin is planning to throw a birthday party for herself at the canyon. Aisha, Hawk and Miguel plan to get their first and throw their own party.

Yattaran, Song of a Plastic Model Fanatic

The Arcadia engages the Mazone fleet in battle. A squadron of fighters from the Arcadia are sent out. They do battle with a squadron from the Mazone fleet. The Mazone have the upper hand at first but Captain Harlock makes all the difference. He gives new orders to Daiba from the bridge of the Arcadia which turns the tide and the Mazone retreat.

First Mate Yattaran is captured as the battle is winding down. He is taken to the Mazone flagship. It doesn't seem to phase him. The Mazone think they can learn about the Arcadia from him.

Doctor Zero, back on the Arcadia, tells the others about Yattaran's past. Doctor Zero and Yattaran knew each other when they were young. The Arcadia was broken when Yattaran joined the crew. He fixed the Arcadia.

Sgt Bilko starts to regret not having any children after he runs into an old flame and meets her two teenage children. Ernie returns to Fort Baxter and promptly "adopts" Private Perkins, a newcomer to his platoon. Perkins delights in playing practical jokes on everyone including, eventually, his adoptive father.

Thoughts

Colonel Hall is not in this episode.

I get what they were going for here but this one lacked punch. It was clearly supposed to be funny but most of the humor felt forced and unearned.

Mija, follows Okja from the mountains of Korea first to Seoul and then to New York City. Mija and Okja receive some help from the Animal Liberation Front (ALF) both in Seoul and in New York City.

Schwartz and Von Ritter are socializing, sharing a drink at the sawmill at night when they get interrupted. Someone has painted the words "Schwartz. Dirty Jew" on the outside of the sawmill. Schwartz insists that he is not a Jew. Von Ritter tells him he will have to get the grafitti cleaned up immediately.

Lucienne sees Kurt again. Her radio is broken. He offers to fix it. She makes a date to see him at 9 PM. Mr. Bériot, the principal imposes on her later that day. He invites her over for dinner. She doesn't want to accept but doesn't know how to say no to him without raising suspicion.

De Kervern comes home to find that Judith has taken in a Jewish family from Belgium. They are headed south. She was afraid they would get arrested. He isn't happy about it but he tries to help them. He talks to Marie about it. She suggests that her husband could get them through the woods and across the line.

Abbott Elementary 1.02

Light Bulb

Janine complains to Mr. Johnson about the lights in the hallway. He's going fishing and doesn't take the time to fix the lights. Janine tries to fix the broken lights and makes the situation worse. She tries to fix the mess she made and makes the situation even worse.

Greg has to work up the nerve to tell the mother of one of his students that she needs to bring him in on time. Barbara helps to motivate him to do it.

Thoughts

This one started a little slow. It feels a bit like one of those in between episodes. There are developments in the backstories of Janine and Greg but nothing momentous just yet.

Paul Vitti (Robert DeNiro) gets out of prison early when he startes acting strange. He is released into the custody of Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal). Ben encourages Paul to get a regular job. Paul tries but can't stand any of the 9-to-5 jobs that he tries. He winds up working as a consultant to a TV show runner but Paul can't keep clean. Pretty soon he is planning a heist.

Thoughts

This feels like a sequel to Analyze This (1999) in some ways but in others it does not. The characters, the lead actors, and part of the supporting cast are the same but this isn't the all that similar to the prior movie.

There are a few laughs but they are few and far between. This movie feels all over the place in a way that the first one did not.

I watched the whole movie because I wanted to be able to say that I had watched it. It won't happen again if I have anything to do with it. Within the first 20 minutes I had serious doubts but I continued to watch.

NewsRadio 5.03

Lucky Burger

Lisa goes undercover at Lucky Burger. She plans to expose all the health code violations that take place in the fast food restaurant. The manager is so impressed with her work ethic that he promotes her to Assistant Manager. She decides that Lucky Burger is her new calling but then a health inspector shows up.

Matthew wants Dave to fire Max. Dave wants Max to use his real voice.

Thoughts

I liked the second half of this episode better than the first half. The best moments were those that involved Max and Dave. I liked Lisa's subplot but I wasn't crazy about it. There wasn't really enough to it. This wasn't a great episode but it was a decent one.

Paul Vitti (Robert De Niro) is a gangster who is experiencing panic attacks. He turns to Ben Sobel (Billy Crystal), a psychiatrist, for help. Ben really doesn't want to help but Paul is persistent. He follows Paul down to Miami and interferes with his wedding to Laura MacNamara (Lisa Kudrow). He follows Paul back to New York City.

The FBI gets involved. They want Ben to find out where a big gangster meeting will be taking place. He tries to help out but ultimately he decides he can't do it and removes the wire they put on him.

Paul stars to feel better but things don't really come together until the end of the movie.

The Orville 1.03

About a Girl

Bortus and Klyden, his mate, want their child to be given a sex change. Machlans are usually born male. A female is only born once every 75 years. Bortus asks Dr. Finn to perform the operation but she refuses. Captain Mercer backs up the Doctor.

Vortus reaches out to his people and they agree to send a ship to pickup the baby and perform the operation. Captain Mercer reprimands Bortus for his actions. Lieutenant Katan tries to convince Bortus of the error of his ways in the boxing ring. She doesn't get through to him.

Gordon and Lamarr get Bortus to watch a movie with them, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Bortus changes his mind. Bortus tries to convince Kytden that submitting their daughter to a sex change is the wrong thing to do. Klyden is not convinced and reveals that he was born a female, something that Bortus did not know.

German soldiers enter Lucienne's classroom. They search the classroom and find a hunting rifle that belongs to Jules Beriot, the principal. He tries to explain but they take him away. She goes to see him in jail. He begs her to find him a lawyer. She tries but nobody is willing to take the case. Hiding weapons might get him Beriot the death penalty, even though it is an old rifle and no longer functions.

Marchetti looks into the spy ring. He rides the bus to Essarts a few times without finding anything. He starts telling people, with Müller's permission, that there is going to be a a big arrest in Essarts the next day. De Kervern hears Marchetti talking about the arrest and prepares a message for Marie to pass along.

Abbott Elementary 1.01

Pilot

Janine is in her second year teaching at Abbott Elementary in Philadelphia, PA. She needs a new rug for her classroom because one of her students peed on the one she has.

Ava, the principal, gets some money for the school and spends it all on a new sign for the school.

Greg is hired to take the place of a teacher who was fired for hitting a student. He applied for the job of principal but Ava got it because she has connections and because she blackmailed someone in high places.

Jacob is the only remaining teacher who was hired at the same time as Janine.

Barbara and Melissa are the veteran teachers and considerably more jaded about the system and how it works.

Cobra Kai 1.08

Molting

Johnny takes his students to a junkyard to train. He creates an obstacle course for them to run. He has them break things. He has dogs chase them around the junkyard. He confides in Miguel later on that his expectations aren't very high for the All Valley Tournament.

Miguel shows Johnny a picture of Sam, his girlfriend. Johnny recognizes her as being Danny's daughter. He tries to talk Miguel into breaking up with Sam. He tells Sam his version about what happened when he and Danny met in high school. Danny is the bad guy in Johnny's version. 

Danny's mother comes to visit her son and his family. She and Amanda do not get along. Robby comes over to train with Danny and meets Samantha for the first time. Danny takes Robby out in to the woods to train. Robby tries to tell Danny who his father is but he chickens out.

The Space Graveyard - Deathshadow

The Arcadia travels to Deathshadow Island, Captain Harlock's asteroid base. He examines the device that Combat Commander Zol gave him in the previous episode. It tells him and the others about the Mazone fleet and the sorts of ships it includes. The Mazone flagship of Queen LaFresia is blindingly bright.

The Mazone send a second beacon. The first was sent to Earth. This one they send to Mars. Captain Harlock sees where it is headed but chooses to let it land on Mars. He sets a course for the Andromeda Galaxy in the hopes of finding the Mazone fleet there.

Doctor Who (1963) 22.06.02

Revelation of the Daleks - Part Two

The stone monument falls on the Doctor. Jobel wanders outside and tries to comfort Peri who is distraught. Jobel is interested in Peri and assumes that the Doctor must be dead. The Doctor is not dead and crawls out from under the monument.

The Doctor and Peri leave Jobel behind and go looking for answers. They meet Tasambeker  who gives them a crash course on the services that they have to offer at Tranquil Repose. She shows them a video of the DJ. Peri wants to meet the DJ. Jobel shows her the way.

Orcini and Bostock arrive at Tranquil Repose. They are checking their gear when they are interrupted by a Dalek. Orcini shoots and destroys it but the explosion alerts Davros to the presence of the two assassins. Davros correctly assumes that they must have been sent by Kara. He sends Daleks to bring Kara to him. Vogel objects and is killed by the Daleks.

Tasambeker meets with the Great Healer (aka Davros). He tells her about how he offered Jobel eternal life, as a Dalek, and how Jobel refused the offer. Tasambeker agrees that Jobel is a fool even though she still has some affection for him. Davros orders her to kill Jobel. She tries one last time to convince Jobel to run away with her. He a laughs at the suggestion and she kills him. She is killed herself by Daleks minutes later.

Newsradio 5.02

Meet the Max Louis

Dave hires Max Louis to replace Bill. Dave wanted to hire someone else but the staff of WNYX insist that he hire Max when they find out that he was a friend and former co-worker of Bill.

Max is lacking in confidence. He gets worried he is going to get fired as soon as he gets hired. He doesn't make any effort to learn anyone else's name. Dave finally convinces Max that he isn't going to fire him.

Electrical devices in the office break due to something to do with the Year 2000 Crisis. Joe does what he can to fix the devices that break.

Bilko's Television Idea

Buddy Bickford, television star, comes to Fort Baxter to get some ideas for his next TV show. Bilko tries to sell him an idea he got from another soldier but Bickford thinks his own ideas are better. Bilko tricks Bickford into thinking that he has lost his touch and that what he needs is the script Bilko is trying to sell him

Thoughts

Bilko makes a passing remark about a TV show about a New York City bus driver. He must be referring to the Honeymooners although the show isn't mentioned by name.

The Orville 1.02

Command Performance

The Orville receives a distress call from a nearby transport shop and goes to investigate. Captain Mercer's parents are aboard the transport. Captain Mercer and Commander Grayson take the shuttle over to the transport ship. He leaves Lieutenant Kitan in charge of the Orville. Lieutenant Commander Bortus is on a leave of absence and is busy sitting on an egg that contains his offspring.

The transport ship turns out to be a hologram. Mercer and Grayson are abducted by Calivon and put in a zoo. At first they get a long but before long they are getting each other's nerves.

Lieutenant Kitan has trouble adjusting to being in charge of the Orville. She tries turning to Lieutenant Commander Bortus but he cannot leave his egg. Doctor Finn mentors Lieutenant Kitan.

Feb 4, 1941

Inspector Marchetti has a sting operation set up to catch people selling goods on the black market. It turns out that the Germans have a similar operation going. Marchetti tries arresting someone only to discover that it is a German police man, the same one that De Kervern met in Besançon in January.

De Kervern goes back to see Natacha at the brothel. He gets information from her that she got from Von Ritter, one of her clients. He also runs in to Marie Germain in Besançon. He recruits her to transport letters for him for the Resistance. She agrees to do it even though she has problems of her own with her husband who has been selling things on the black market.

Lucienne practices with the three German violin-playing soldiers. She thinks that Kurt, the soldier who recruited her to join the quartet, likes her. She finds a message from him written in letter cubes on her desk. She writes him a note which read "Me Too" and sticks it in his pocket. She later finds out that he isn't the one who left the message on her desk. It was her Jules Bériot, the principal, who left it.

Gohrum! The Tragic Soldier

The Arcadia passes Jupiter on its way back to Earth. It encounters a weird asteroid field. Captain Harlock takes the wheel and steers the ship through the asteroids. The Arcadia is boarded by warriors from the planet Tokaga. Many of the Tokagans are killed but one escapes to the boarding ship. Tadashi follows him and boards his ship before it departs. The Tokagan ship takes off. The Arcadia follows. The Tokagan warrior is captured once Tadashi shoots the Tokagan commander.

Tadashi and the Tokagan warrior, Combat Commander Zol, are brought aboard the Arcadia. Their wounds are treated by Doctor Zero. Captain Harlock pulls Zol aside and has a talk with him. Zol tells him about how the Mazone killed most of the people of Tokaga. The survivors were trained to find and destroy the Arcadia. Zol is moved by the kindness that Captain Harlock has shown him. He gives Captain Harlock a cosmograph memory device which contains valuable information about the Mazone fleet.

Cobra Kai 1.07

All Valley

Robby gets more training from Danny. His friends want him to help steal car parts from LaRusso Automotive. He gets the code to help them break in but then he changes his mind. His friends decide to beat him up when he won't give them the code to the door. They try but he fights them off. They run off once he points out that they are being filmed by a security camera.

Miguel asks Sam out on a date. She tells him no. She doesn't want to date anyone. He convinces her to go on a non-date with him. He is ready to take her to the observatory but Johnny convinces him to take her to mini-golf. They have a great time. Sam kisses Miguel after demonstrating one of her karate moves on him.

Johnny finds out that the All Valley tournament is coming up. He tries to get the Cobra Kai Dojo signed up. He finds out that Cobra Kai has been banned from the All Valley tournament. He goes to the tournament committee meeting to try and get them to change their mind. There he finds out that Danny is on the committee and why Cobra Kai is banned from the tournament. Johnny pleads his case. Danny doesn't change his mind but the committee votes on it and decides to let the Cobra Kai Dojo in to the tournament. Danny is not happy.

Revelation of the Daleks - Part One

The Doctor and Peri arrive on the planet Necros. They are there to see Arthur Stengos, a friend of the Doctor. The Doctor lands the TARDIS outside of Tranquil Repose, a mortuary. They have a bit of a walk to get to Tranquil Repose. They are attacked by a rough looking man. He dies before they can find out what happened to him. He warns them about the Great Healer.

Inside Tranquil Repose the staff of the mortuaty are getting ready for a visit from the President who is there to see his wife's body. Jobel, the head mortician, orders everyone around. They are all incompetent in Jobel's eyes. He is the head mortician but he is not the Great Healer, the one who runs Tranquil Repose; that is Davros and he has cameras everywhere and sees everything that is going on.

Bill Moves On

The employees of WNYX remember Bill McNeal, their colleague from the first 4 seasons of the show, who passed away between seasons 4 and 5. Matthew is convinced that Bill is still alive. Lisa gets grief from the others for turning to alcohol after she heard about Bill's death. Dave obssesses about the eulogy he gave at the funeral for Bill.

Thoughts

Catherine returns to the show to join the others in mourning the loss of Bill. This is her final appearance on the show.

This episode is heartfelt. There are a few jokes but most of them didn't connect in my opinion. I am glad that they acknowledged the loss of Bill in an appropriate way.

This documentary recounts the story of the five young men who were exonerated in Dec 2002 of the rape of the Central Park Jogger in 1989. The story follows the case chronologically. The first 40 minutes set the scene, cover the events of the crime itself and that lead up to the arraignment of Antron, Kevin, Ray, Yusef, and Korey. The next 50 minutes follow the story through the trials that led to them getting thrown in prison. The last 30 minutes are about their time in prison and how it is that they came to be released and have their convictions overturned. 

All five men, in their mid to late 30s at the time the documentary was made, participate in the documentary. There is lots of video and photographs of them from 1989 and 1990. All but Antron appear on camera at the time the documentary was being made.

Bilko Enters Politics

Bilko talks Doberman into running for mayor of Roseville when Mayor Burke refuses to build a servicemen's center in Roseville. Doberman isn't allowed to campaign for himself so Bilko organizes others to campaign for him. Mayor Burke doesn't know what to do. He hasn't had an opponent in the past 15 years. Mr. Donelly, the local party boss, tries to help Mayor Burke but in the end Doberman decides to bow out of the race for mayor.

The Orville 1.01

Old Wounds

Captain Ed Mercer assumes command of the Orville, an exploratory starship, one year after his marriage ended. The ship's first mission takes Captain Mercer and his crew to the science center on Eplison Two. They pick up Commadner Kelly Grayson, the Orville's new executive officer and Ed's ex-wife, on the way to Eplison Two. Ed tries arguing with Admiral Halsey about the decision to make Commander Grayson the ship's XO but it gets him nowhere.

The Orville arrives as Epsilon Two. Captain Mercer, Commander Grayson, Security Chief Alara Kitan, and Chief Medical Officer Claire Finn travel to the surface of the planet by shuttle. Dr. Aronoff shows them around. The tour incudes a demonstration of a new piece of technology that rapidly ages things. Dr. Aronoff is worried about the Krill, a warlike race of aliens, who have threatened Epsilon Two in the past.

De Kervern celebrates with Alfred, a friend. They recently bought a winning lottery ticket. They won 150,000 francs. Alfred goes upstairs with one of the prostitutes who works in the brothel where they were celebrating. Minutes later Alfred is dead. The prostitute doesn't know where Alfred's wallet is. De Kervern takes her in for questioning.

Daniel Larcher goes to see Marcel, his brother, in prison. He brings him a picture that Gustave drew for him. He tries to get Marcel to sign a paper promising to give up his political activities but Marcel refuses. Daniel starts to suspect that there is something going on between Hortense, his wife, and Jean Machetti, the policeman. He questions her about it but she insists that it is just his imagination. Daniel finds Marchetti a place to stay and makes it clear that he wants him to move out as soon as possible.

When They See Us (2019) Extra

Oprah Winfrey Presents: When They See Us Now

This program is divided into three sections. Oprah brought out Ava Duvernay the director and co-writer of When They See Us, along with most of the primary cast members. Oprah talked to the director for the first 10 minutes. She spent the next 20 minutes talking to the cast of the mini-series. All of the actors who played the 5 young men, the exonerated 5, were there expect for the actor who played Ray as a young man. Also on stage were Michael K. Williams, Nicey Nash, and Joshua Jackson. All of them got a chance to speak. There were three other members of the production team but Oprah did not ask them any questions.

The cast and crew on stage took a seat in the audience, around the midway point in this 61 minute program, and Oprah then brought out the actual five exonerated men. She talked to them about what they went through, both the good and the bad, and what it was like seeing their story brought to life. Three of them (Yusef, Kevin, Ray) were very eager to talk. Antron talked but he did not seem as outgoing as the other three. Korey said very little. Oprah didn't push him too much but she asked him a few questions. Most of his answers were short. He seemed uncomfortable.
