Ichigo Becomes a Hollow!

Rukia gets a visit from Byakuya, her older brother, Renji is also there at the time. Byakuya tells her that she will be executed in 25 days for the crimes she committed. Renji is stunned.

Orihime and Chad train with the talking cat. It tells them that if they are going to travel with Ichigo to the Soul Society then they need to be able to activate their powers at any time at a moment's notice. Chad doesn't have much success. Orihime does but with some unintended side effects.

Ichigo continues to train with Urahara and his helpers. Time starts to run out. Ichigo has been warned that if he fails to transform into a Soul Reaper within 72 hours then he will become a Hollow and Urahara will have to kill him.

Ichigo goes into a trance as time is running out. He meets someone who might be the soul of his Zanpakutō. He remembers something that Uryū and it helps his to find the hilt of his broken Zanpakutō. It doesn't look good for Ichigo back in the real world.

Urahara is getting ready to deal with whatever has become of Ichigo when he makes it out of the pit wearing a mask like Hollows wear. Urahara congratulates him and tells him that it is time for his third lesson. In order to conplete that lesson all Ichigo has to do is knock off Urahara's hat.

Thoughts

This is a decent episode. The season is almost over. It is almost time for Ichigo to travel to the Soul Society. I'm ready for the show to move on but I am still enjoying and intrigued by this season. If there is one thing I do not like and am not looking forward to it is the role that Rukia will play over the next 40 plus episodes. She's part of the team but for now she's incarcerated facing the threat of execution. I miss seeing her interact with Ichigo and his friends.
