Naraku's Insidious Plot
Naraku helps Sango, who is injured by giving her a shard of the Shikon Jewel. It doesn't heal her but it helps to distract her from the pain.
Kagome, Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo bury the dead villagers. They investigate the cave behind the village. It is where the Shikon Jewel was made, according to Myoga. They are trying to enter the cave, which is guarded by magic, when Sango shows up.
Sango and Inuyasha fight but she proves to be no match for him in her weakened state. Inuyasha and the others spot Naraku. They try to tell Sango not to trust Naraku but she doesn't listen until after she has collapsed from exhaustion.
Inuyasha, Miroku, and Kirara (Tsango's giant cat) fight with Naraku. It isn't until Sango realizes that this isn't actually Naraku but a demon puppet that Inuyasha is able to put that information to use and destroy the demon puppet.
Miles away in a castle, the real Naraku, disguised as Kagewaki Hitomi, a young lord, understands that his puppet has been destroyed.
Thoughts
This was a decent episode but it was mostly fighting. Kagome is on the sidelines for most of this episode. She does not really get involved in the fight.
