Captain Freeman tries to make Ensign Mariner's life miserable so that she will ask for a transfer. Freeman starts by assigning her to all the worst assignments on board the Cerritos but when that doesn't work she promotes her.
Tendi ruins a ceremony that Lieutenant JG O'Connor, another crew member, is performing. It was supposed to end with him ascending to a higher plane of existence. She tries to make it up to him. She tries to get him back on track but he refuses to accept her suggestions or gifts.
Everything goes haywire aboard the Cerritos while it is helping the Merced to tow an ancient generation ship. Molecular fluid from aboard the generaion ship spreads to the Cerritos and the Merced. The fluid is capable of creating life from inorganic matter.
Haley Joel Osment played the part of O'Connor. I think the last thing I saw him in was Future Man.
This episode was a lot of fun although I didn't think it was quite as laugh out loud funny as the previous episode. I can see how some people might not think it was very good.
